Totally making this today. It's been years since I've had it. Plus, add bacon to mushrooms. And instead of buttering your toast, put a thin slice of your favorite cheese on the toast, then the mushrooms. Going to the store NOW!

That looked lovely girl, 4 to 6 people yeah right. Just on a side note I had some field mushrooms grow on my lawn a few days ago, they have much more flavour then store bought ones. Not going to eat them I plan on chopping them up and spreading them on the lawn to get the spores there ready for next year. Lovely to see you again so stay safe

I've done that recipe before you. But mine didn't say anything about toast but I did use some. And one thing you did that I will do next time is cut the toast before you put the mushrooms on. Good idea. Thanks.

That really looks delicious Jas... (except for the onions I'm allergic to...), but it does look so good and tasty otherwise. I would add more to it... maybe even scrambling some eggs into it sort of like a stir-fry. lol I lived in Russia for a year and they made compote there, but it was an almost alcoholic juice or drink made from berries and fruits. You really made my mouth water today Hon... I just had a major surgery last Wednesday and I can't eat anything for about seven more weeks. My surgery looks like I've been shot five times with a large caliber gun across the front of my torso. My belly is so bloated and distended... they pumped me up with air like a soccer ball. lol Looking at you dishing up your meal here brought back so many memories of cooking when I was younger and eating it on bread the way you did here. YUM!!! Bon appetite Hon...

Hi Jasmine, for even more decadence you can add a splash of double cream to the pan just before serving, and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of the finished servings. Totally yummy 'lockdown' lunch. loves ya, xxx

I never buy mixed herbs it's much more fun mixing your own. Looks great deffo gonna try that. I stopped using salt in my cafe about ten years ago and nobody has missed it's rarely asked for. Cheers Alan.

Holy bat that's a lot of butter. My loose impression is that it's just butter with a few mushrooms and some mixed herbs. I might stick to reversing the ratios I think!

Very nice recipes J, but missing your main ingredient of meat ... otherwise it's a case of taking supplements of B12. Vegetarian and vegan meals ok for a change but humans don't do so well without B12. End up looking pasty faced and skin issues ... spots and pimples for example. Worse perhaps are the mental issues, such as depression. Even worse are that some mental and/neurological issues are irreversible. Plenty of info online to put you off strictly vegan diets for ever. Which is a problem with starvation in 3rd world countries as even if fed properly in later life there may be said irreversible damage to neurological processes. What might be useful would be to do a series on trapping voles and hedgehogs or foxes and cooking those. You have already done the American crayfish thing so not a large step to land based wildlife. Probably enough wildlife about anyway as voles damage canal banks and foxes are vermin anyway. Would avoid rats tho' as they harbour all sorts of nasties which, if the cooking was not thoroughly done might do you all sorts of damage. Folks I know in Canada never buy meat, they either hunt it or, and I am perfectly serious eat roadkill. These folks have eaten just about everything which once wore fur and have freezers full of anything you can think of. They don't live very close to civilization and carry a rifle or two in their vehicles all the time the same way we carry travel sweets. They seem to survive alright and I put it down to hugely diverse diet. And of course the wild animals aren't stuffed full of growth hormones and anti bacterial stuff or is chlorine washed, which seems to be the norm "over there".

If you're a Brit - Marmite is a good source for B12 (not in this recipe but in soups, gravies, or even spread on toast).
@ThisNarrowboatAdventure4 жыл бұрын
Hi there , this is a series of recipes from a particular book, they don't have any recipes with vols, hedge hogs or foxes in. If you want a video with me cooking meat you can look here kzbin.info/www/bejne/h57Po6Z9p5h9p6c. Just to be clear I respect the right of people to be vagan vegaterian or omnivor and think they can worry about their own health regardless .
@t1n44444 жыл бұрын
@@ThisNarrowboatAdventure Agreed but if vegans become ill through their own making, Marmite notwithstanding, it's as bad as tobacco and alcohol or "other" substances. The effects are sometime delayed for some considerable time.

this video isn't about overall diet, I am cooking a recipe.I'm wondering why you have chosen to get on a soap box in the comments of a video about a recipe?
