Sir, using formalin and carbendazim is not a good choice as they are toxic and cancerous. There are other low-tech ways to sterilize the substrate.

Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else trying to find out how do i grow mushrooms try Panlarko Grow Mushroom Planner (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate got cool success with it.

Mycelium develop completely. Pp beg remove, spray plain weter 3 - 4 time, light and clear air requirements for more flush. For second flush 1/2 inch remove the beg all sides, spray weter regularly 3 - 4 time, get second time more flush. For third flush repite again second crop technique. And get third flush. And last vestag beg is feed for animal and get more Milk. Inshaallah.

@@apong3984 It has been two years since i've asked this question and since; i've found some answers;well it's possible but not recommanded since the mycelium became too weak to "invade" rapidly the new substrate and also there is a possibilty of contamination so failure posdibilities are very high.

Hi good day, I'm about to start using paddy straw as my substrate for oyster mushroom. I just wanna know which pasteurisation method is better between steam/boil and cold hydrated lime water. Not in term of cost but in term of effectiveness. Hope any experience grower can help. I've been using sawdust as my substrate for 5 years but now in my country it getting more difficult to get sawdust due to pandemic. Thanks in advance.

sawdust pasteurisation is more difficult you have to get the temperature 80 degree in your boiling bag but in paddy straw just boil your mushroom bag half time may be 3 hours to get 80 degree but sawdust 6 hours to get 80 degree in your boiling process.

Its not good to use chemical for food consumption. Try to find another alternatives.

Maricar Castillo that chemical is just to kill other bacterias as it can easily out run mushroom's growth. you can either boil in hot water if you think it's disturbing you. but either way, the reason is to kill any unwanted stuffs that can easily kill mushroom's growth
