Just a tipp: when you pick mushrooms use a twisting hand motion so you dont destroy the micel underneath it. Love how big the mushrooms are at your place! German mushrooms are so tiny

yanking the mushroom out of the ground won't harm the mycelium at all, you just need to cover it up to protect the mycelium from infection, at least a little.

I always take knife with me and cut the bottom part of the leg of the mushroom rather than taking whole out so that the mycelium is less damaged. Plus with knife it is easier to clean them while picking, less work at home. Sometimes I make a small cut on top of cap to see if worms have been eating it as I don't pick these. Thanks for the video!

how to you like to cook these up? i found them in northern Minnesota. They werent in a birch treed area. mostly pine. i ate a little so far and didnt have any negative reactions. they dont stain blue or yellow. they do blacken once cooked.

Bit late to the party but i dont think these are orange birch boletes (Leccinum versipelle). It looks like youre in a pine biome so it could be leccium vulpinum or something like that. Doesnt really make a difference in edibility but versipelle tends to look slightly different

It looks like cowberry bushes all around. Very easy to just make puree with sugar and enjoy tart&sweet kind of sauce over a bun. It is also vitamin C source and (along with leaves) mild diuretic and anti-inflammatory.
