Love your videos Luke. Was wondering if you could do a video on how you prepare your ceps and boletes for eating. Keep up the good work.

Thank you. So far I have 1 cooking video published. I may produce more in the future if I have some time for that.

Thank you. I was especially glad for Boletus pinophilus, as they are not common in areas where I forage most of times. And I'm doing well, thanks - hope you are doing well too.

Do you ever find any magic mushrooms
@LukesMushrooms11 ай бұрын
Maybe I saw them for a few times but that's not my focus :) Not sure if I would even be able to reliably identify them.

The Hericium coralloides that you found is an edible mushroom that is being studied (Like Lion's Mane mushrooms) for it's possible use in the treatment of Alzheimer's. We just foraged for Bear's Tooth mushroom here in New York State a few weeks ago ( Hericium americanum). Do you ever find Bear's Tooth there?
@LukesMushrooms Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing this info and your experience. About Bear's tooth, by name I assume it's unique to America, but anyway I don't think I would be able to distinguish it from H. coralloides :)

Amazing video! I’m just discovering mushrooms as a hobby! Did you eat these mushrooms? And also, do you have any advice for me to start collecting mushrooms myself?
@LukesMushrooms Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, I ate some of those mushrooms. About my advice - never pick any mushrooms if you are not 100% sure what they are. First study them a lot.

Pon pon pon🎶 why do you pounding?🍄👋 spore spawn?
@LukesMushrooms Жыл бұрын
I do it for multiple reasons - check the sound and firmness, as that can often say how healthy the mushroom is. Spreading spores is another effect it may have.

Why do you pick the ones where much of the cap has been eaten away? Can they still be cooked? Those blue mushrooms are so beautiful!
@LukesMushrooms Жыл бұрын
Glad you like the blue ones. About those with cap eaten away - if they are healthy, you usually can save some parts of the mushroom anyway, even if it's not much.

um sir Luke why do you always cover the hole that was left by mushrooms?(keep up the good work sir Luke)
@LukesMushrooms9 ай бұрын
Thank you. Covering the hole is my habit for several reasons. For example to not let mycelium dry or not leave traces after myself :)
