If you bring your intake around the other side of the chamber it will push out the co2 quicker and give you a more accurate reading 😁 Awesome fruiting room boss!

There are some CO2 transmitters with control output built in. That could reduce the system components a bit maybe. And there are ones with a pipe fitting, to be connected to a ventilation pipe directly.

Id love to show you my two barrel PID controller I made. I wonder if you were to flip that water proof fan around if that would help your readings. CO2 is heavier so it sits at the bottom of the grow room. With that fan flipped around it would be sucking in air from the bottom of the grow room where most of the CO2 would be.
@OakandSpore
@OakandSpore 4 жыл бұрын
I have flipped it, so it pulls from the bottom now. But I doubt the co2 has time to settle anyway, there will be too much air current moving around.

Did you program a pi or other unit? Thinking of building my own system to ensure things like hysterysis is taken into account in the logic for the sensor readings because if the amount of airflow change oxygen exchange and CO2.

hey mate, love your videos. currently building my own grow space for oyster mushrooms, im setting it up inside one of my spare rooms in a 2x2 grow tent, being inside i want to maintain a negative pressure inside my tent the whole time, whilst engaging my main exhaust fan with a c02 monitor, do you have any reccomendations for a very small cfm fan that will create just enough negative pressure in my grow space? thanks!!

The controller connects to an Omron PID, which is programmed to turn the fan on when the CO2 gets too high. Yes you can connect to fans to it as well.

Nice! How were you able to get the CO2 probe to work with the temperature controller?
@OakandSpore
@OakandSpore 5 жыл бұрын
So most PID's (process controllers) can function with other measurements, as long as it can take a different input. Most common are a 0-10v, or a 0-5ma (I could be slightly wrong) so instead of attaching a thermocouple, you can attach any probe that's output is 0-10v. My co2 meter is 0-10v, and its measurement range is 0-2000ppm. So 0v = 0ppm, and 10v = 2000ppm. The temperature controller is just a device to interperet the input and display it as a number on the screen (and control it)

Why did you choose to build your own over an Inkbird CO2 controller? I've looked into setting up like yours but the components are gunna cost me as much as an Inkbird plus my time. Just wondering why you went that way rather than purchasing a "plug n play" type deal. Because you hate Inkbird? xD
@OakandSpore
@OakandSpore 3 жыл бұрын
I have never seen an inkbird co2 controller. Inkbird pid's are ok, but usually their probes are garbage. Good probes are the key.

Hello. Very informative. I have a question. During the day, when the exhaust fan sucks out the air from the grow room, how is fresh air then forced into the grow room?
@OakandSpore
@OakandSpore 5 жыл бұрын
There is an open vent where air can come inside. IO do not force fresh air in, rather fresh air gets sucked in.

Bro you do realise that co2 is heavier than air, right? Your censor pipe is drawing from high in the room, so it won't read high until the room is almost full of co2. You should run the fan in the other direction and pull your reading from near the bottom of the room... 😉
@OakandSpore
@OakandSpore 3 жыл бұрын
I don't think co2 is heavy enough to be noticeable on such a small scale, and with air mixing inside the room. Otherwise if you dug a hole outside it would fill with pure co2, which it doesn't.
@PitchforkAcademy
@PitchforkAcademy 3 жыл бұрын
Actually it is, and the smaller the scale the more separation you get. Unless your fans are on the floor pointing upward (and very strongly), most of the co2 will be on the floor. Try reversing the airflow past your censor and seeing how much more your co2 extraction is being activated.
@OakandSpore
@OakandSpore 3 жыл бұрын
@@PitchforkAcademy the atmosphere in the room is replaced once every 6-12 minutes, so no I don't think the co2 will be a higher ppm level at the floor, considering the extractor sucks the air from floor level. I will test it next time I am at the farm.
