I picked up 120 lbs of mushroom compost from local guy about 7 years ago. Composted it down into my regular anaerobic mix. A year later spread entirely throughout my backyard including my gardening area...lawn and all. Every year since then we get mushrooms of numerous varieties spawning throughout the year. Every season except dead of winter. Some 5 something Centennial Colorado.

I did a raised beds experiment this year. Organic Compost and manure in bed 1 and mushroom Compost in bed 2... then planted out starts in each bed from same batches splitting each tray. Undeniably obvious benefits to the mushroom Compost. Like night and day... no comparison.

Very interesting. I'm going to try growing wine cap mushrooms in my new native plant area among the woodchips. I've been researching it so a timely video.

@deecorey2910 I was growing Anaheim peppers, and had a bunch on 7 plants. It was a little more watering, but it was a noticeable increase in my yields.

The link between every tip you gave was that fungi break down lignin, that's their job in the soil. The so called "brown material" refered to when making compost is high in lignin, straw wood chips etc Cold compost made chiefly of brown manterial such as leaves makes the best compost because it is high in fungi

Mushrooms… I remember when I was on holiday in Poland, the GIANT mushrooms people would find in forest. I did think they should put the mushrooms in a mesh bag and not buckets. Mesh bags allows the spores to fall back to the ground as you walk around the forest. Luke you should have seen the size of some of them!!!!!

Keep in mind…mycorrhizal fungi are not actually mushrooms. They do not have a fruiting bodies like mushrooms. So these are slightly different fungi. But I still agree with your basic premise and practice most of what you’re suggesting.
@ProlerSkyphet
@ProlerSkyphet 22 сағат бұрын
Small correction: mushrooms are the fruiting bodies of a small number of fungi. Mycorrhizae are non fruiting fungi, so technically not mushrooms, but not a huge difference otherwise

That technique does have to be only for raised bed but for regular beds it’s perfect.

There are different species of inkcap native to different areas. The kind we have growing around here are pleated inkcaps, or Parasola plicatilis.

Also, the choice edible shaggy mane is a type of inkcap, specifically Coprinus comatus.

Maybe make a video about herbs we can grow for medicinals, since a lot of us are facing having no medical insurance soon. A focus on women's issues might also be really helpful.

What are you freaking talking about. I had good insurance thru my job that I paid for until Obama did whatever he did them it went thru the roof and covered less than half while my deductible went up. As much as we all pay in taxes we all deserve some form of free insurance. You have lost your mind
