Since I focus more on the instrumental in this video, here's my no in-game knowledge thoughts on the lyrics: I mention the question and answer phrasing throughout that's really interesting. Essentially a song arranged as a duet despite there only being one singer. The "My anger (you wonder)," vulgar (forward)" etc. bit almost makes me think that it's an argument but between two sides of the same person maybe. Really curious about the "Delete" part too if anyone has any background they'd like to share.
@mageofvoid42826 күн бұрын
honestly this song or arguably "Compass" was the start of the Limbus Company Mili songs being built more for the game opposed to being something that you can listen to on its own. "Hero" IMO suffers alot from this as each section feels incredibly different from the last and kind of disconnected. This song in game swaps between the two singers as 2 battles happen in parallel before coming together at the end with the full song in an amazing crescendo to the fight.

The most context i can give without giving to much spoilers, the idea of the song is that is two people (the first voice being a male and the second a female) talking to each other about how much they care about the other but they dont know how to tell the other and still wishing to do it. That is as much as i can give.

The most I can say about the DELETE part without spoiling much is that it is very linked to "self-loathing" and a desire for "penance" for something they think they were a culprit to.

This is one of the songs that really works MUCH better in the game rather than on its own. And I'm not even talking just about the story making it better. The way it's split up between multiple boss phases enhances it greatly in my opinion. So I don't blameyou for not liking it that much at first.
@EverythingFantasy6 күн бұрын
That's interesting! Quite curious of where the splits happen
@aratascafe70106 күн бұрын
@@EverythingFantasy the splits happen at phase transitions, in wich you fight two different bosses for each phase. Each one having only the higher or lower tones of the vocals as we quite literally alternate between who we are fighting/is singing. The vocals come together for the final phase as we fight the tragic realization that even though they are "together", they will always be apart

First impressions are such an interesting thing. I'd assume for most limbus players like me, they love this song since their first impression of it is during the boss fight when all of their anticipation reaches a climax. But for others such as yourself who approach it from an outsider perspective, it doesn't have the same weight and impact on the first listen.

"I must be the reason why, you must tell me all these lies Wishing you a better life without me by your side" "Love must be the reason why, I still believe in this lie That you'll live a better life without me by your side" In a non-spoiler way I can tell you the argument is indeed with themselves, but because both voices think in the same way and don't really listen to the other. is not so much as both sides of the same person, as it is two persons with aligning (very self destructive... DELETE) desires: for the other to be happy

what I love about Mili is that both the melodies and lyrics have their own details and golden lining, their unique style leaves me craving for this type of thing more than ever. 'Hero' sharing the delusional mindset winning over giving it up, 'Through Patches of Violet' giving you the story's whole point - both characters blame themselves for hurting one another. Awesome stuff, about as addictive as drugs may be.

As someone who knows the conflict but doesnt know music theory, the "imperfections" makes me feel heartbroken. To explain to context without spoiling too much (no specific events of the canto is mentioned here) : Its a romeo and juliet kind of situation, where a couple who loves each other is broken up because of miscommunication and misunderstanding.

The main context is that this song is about stereotypical romance drama miscommunication/misunderstanding that goes WAY out of control Hence the dissonance between the two voices and why until the climax the two choices just cannot harmonize together The only singer is Cassie but you are definitely meant to take it as two different people The delete part is also very literal. But elaboration is spoilers
@kevinrafael23186 күн бұрын
I gotta say that you might want to watch a clip of the in game battle when the boss battle of the respective song plays just for the sake of knowing how the context of the song goes. Mili's Limbus Company songs started being so out of context ever since Fly My Wings, Between Two Worlds might be the very last one that you can listen without needing to know that it was a boss theme because it wasn't cutting through the boss phases so much. This particular song especially had a lot of context, like you wouldn't even know that the song was normally sung with 1 solo and that it cuts to the other solo voice midway before finally doing the actual solo duet if you didn't play or watch the boss battle.

Cutting through the boss' phases are PM improvising on Mili song. I think Mili still has her own freedom to write her song, then PM will adapt on it, they propose back to Mili to change here and there a bit and you get the song. This is why for the Final Boss, you go in instantly at verse 2, 'Round and round we go' instead of going from Verse 1 like other songs.

i prefer the only Masculine voice over the feminine its a duet that is not in sync with each other with only few moments where they are in sync like ''the message has already been sent through patches of violet'' and ''Delete'' part you can tell when they sing one of them is either louder or slower than other and they become in sync in the 3rd section upon the first hearing i loved this song far more than Compass and Hero its my favourite song tied with Between two worlds aside from in hell we lament
@peavuh3 күн бұрын
so basically the song plays in the final boss of the sixth chapter of Limbus's story, a fight against two different people, both of which are from alternate realities, and wish to kill other versions of themselves in every world because both think they are the cause of the other's suffering (also the different vocals play in different phases (phase 1 and 3 have the lower vocals representing the Erlking (the boss during those phases), then phases 2 and 4 have the higher vocals representing Every Catherine (the boss during those phases) and finally phase 5 has both vocals and the final part added in, representing both of them realizing that their thought process was flawed, yet it is too late to go back (you dont actually fight both at once, phase 5 is only the Erlking))

Tbh through patches of violet is still GOATED even tho it requires context to understand I just love duets and classical instruments and I belive that despite the song was composed JUST for the fight, it still stands up pretty well unlike songs like compass or hero and even in between 2 worlds

Really interesting song, I hate how the lyrics are just slightly off but that's the point
@fluffytowels11456 күн бұрын
Later limbus mili songs kinda suffer from the issue of being composed for a specific bossfight, which makes them worse on their own. What I mean by this is that they feel very "compressed", each part of the song doesn't really get room to breathe, unlike in the game where a part of the song usually loops for at least a single phase, with patches of violet also switching between the vocals, which lets you actually hear the deeper voice

Is that a Libray of Ruina track i spy during the analysis segments? I say we got him lads, the Project Moon, Mili and maybe EIM obsession deepens. Even if it's because of these games' music, one day... This composer will understand, being on the last step of planting the seed in the underground facility, facing off against your biggest haters on the floors of the library , and goofing off as well as fighting depression with your dysfunctional family of book characters and authors.
