I used Fiverr to "hire" someone to record an intro and outro for my upcoming podcast.
@IndependentPodcastNetwork3 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. I used someone from Fiverr to produce short jingles as lead-ins for segments on my podcast- and it sounded great!

If there is a specific line in a song I want to use for my intro, could I use it if it was adapted? For example, the line is 'he's the guy who didn't like musicals'. Could I have someone perform it with a different melody and sing 'she's the girl who really liked musicals' without getting a copyright problem?

So if I sing a song that is written and performed by someone else...say karaoke on my podcast...is this a problem? Or should I only be considering the writer of the song?

So let me understand this. Anything recorded prior to 1972. The recording is not copyright protected. Therefore, it can be used?

How do I find podcast save songs?.

What would the situation look like if you used a copyrighted song without permission on your podcast, but you had no intentions of making any profit on it? For example, from my knowledge, sponsors is what provides the funding for a podcast. If someone were to refuse sponsors and only use their own funds as a means to keep the podcast going, what kind of consequences can the podcaster face?

Misinformation on pre- 1972 music recordings : The Classics Protection and Access Act, Title II of the Orrin G. Hatch-Bob Goodlatte Music Modernization Act, brings pre-1972 sound recordings partially into the federal copyright. For recordings first published before 1923, the additional time period ends on December 31, 2021. For recordings first published between 1923-1946, the additional time period is 5 years after the general 95-year term. For recordings first published between 1947-1956, the additional time period is 15 years after the general 95-year term. For all remaining recordings first fixed prior to February 15, 1972, the additional transition period shall end on February 15, 2067. I'm glad I looked this up myself. I could have been sued If I went by what I heard in this interview

I have a podcast about Brass music, I use little bits of music from different pieces and nothing had happened yet, well we’ve only been going about 5 moths, I own recordings of the pieces I use, does Copyright still apply?
@HRHMANSOUR3 жыл бұрын
If you own the music then you can use it all you like. Why would you think otherwise?
@Fornost423 жыл бұрын
Copyright 100% still applies. This is what the guest was referring to with the songwriter and recording rights. If it is very old music, Mozart for example, you may be ok, but I will still contact someone with legal knowledge to confirm!
