"Not the catchiest chorus" trust me, that's what I said at first too. Now it's been a few hours & I can't get it out of my head :')

Lit is inspired by Korean culture, as shown in the instruments and the MV/attire. Fun fact, Leedo was sitting on the throne bc he is named after King Sejong the Great (Joseon Dynasty). Ravn and Leedo helped write the lyrics for all tracks in song except Stand By and only Ravn wrote lyrics for Lit.

ONEUS is one of the very very few rookie groups I stanned after exo and that must say a lot

Yes! Same for me. After exo, oneus has my attention.

I'd be interested to hear this song with a live band as the backing. Mamamoo's music sounds that extra bit better when they have that.

It's Korean instruments!! Japanese instruments are basically from Korea, and China. Both Korea and Japan are affected by China culture but two are different. Korea is peninsula and Japan is island located two hours from Korea, so long time ago, Korea transferred lots of Korean culture to Japan. Don't confuse Korean culture and Japanese culture, although East Asian cultures are affected by China a lot so does look similar but every culture is unique. If you are French and Asians tell you like, oh, you're Italian as all European culture is from Rome, you will feel weird.

Appreciate your reaction and your honesty. Many aspects of the song are based on traditional storytelling and structure, including the lyrics and the ad-libs (and as others have noted, the instruments). If you have the time and the inclination, check out Just David's reaction (on your own), purely to see how someone with a grounding in Korean culture responds to this. It's truly delightful. :) Thanks as always!

That main traditional instrument they incorporated in the song is a gayageum, a traditional string-based piano-ish instrument used for entertainment before and is mostly used by women to give entertainment to wealthy people of Korea. Thank you for reacting to ONEUS 💙💙💙 Also, react to Jessi's Who Dat Be. She is considered the Nicki Minaj of Asia. You should check it out!

The funny fact is even cherry blossom tree is originally from Korea, but people usually say it's Japanese. I admire how Japanese people are good at marketing.
@erucchi5 жыл бұрын
cherry blossom doesn't origin from a specific country??? it's literally a tree?? It's not even an endemic tree in east asia, even germany or indonesia have that

If you liked the trap hip-hop undertone of LIT, please do a reaction of Level Up - it's one of the b-sides on FLY WITH US and honestly when I first heard it, I was like ''WAIT WHY THE HECK DOES THIS SOUND MORE LIKE A MONSTA X SONG??'' because it does have those vibes that earlier monsta x songs had with the heavier trap (which is something they did really well and in my opinion ONEUS did really well with Level Up too! Not that I'm saying they did the same - I just meant it has similiar vibes to it). To be freaking honest I absolutely loved the different genre they (ONEUS) tried with Level Up because it really suits their colors! In all honesty ONEUS are the one group with whom I never skip tracks, because they're just that group for me (my ults), of FLY WITH US though, LIT aside, my favorite bsides are Plastic Flower, Blue Sky (I'm the biggest sucker for ballads so please if you can, check this out too) and Level Up! ^0^
