When Akane raises her arm in the air, you KNOW you are in for great stuff. She did it twice before her famous solo in "Freedom" live. When the arm goes up, it's on, folks. I think she did it also between Dice and Hate? at Lollapalooza. When Akane tells you it will be great, listen!

I'm glad you made the trip, it was a night I'll never forget. I've been to a lot of shows over the last 50 years or so, but this one was special for me as Band-Maid is personally reviving rock from its doldrums and they are a throwback to the great rock groups of the past and they have vaulted to number one on my list of live performances. The only other ones close were The Doors at the Whiskey a Go Go in LA in 1969 and a massive Atlantic Records Concert in Madison Square Garden in either the late 70's or early 80's. My bucket list includes a trip to Japan to see Band-Maid, Wagakki Band, Baby Metal, Scandal, Nemophila, Aldious and Li-sa-X on their home field.

Band-Maid will go down in the history books as one of the greatest bands of all time. Saiki is the passion, Kanami is the soul, Akane is the pulse, Misa is the groove, and Miku is the heart of the band. Individually they are spectacular but together they are unstoppable! World Domination po!

AKANE really outdoes herself here; she has really fast hands. KANAMINCHO again shows the world that she is a masterful compose without equal. For more heavy BAND-MAID, and AKANE’s fastest drumming, hear RINNE (“reen-nay”).

It's good that Mincho, got a bit selfish, & wrote a song for herself. She absolutely shines for the whole song. The other three maids supporting her in such sublime fashion, is a real treat to the ears & the Soul. Akane is in 'Animal' mode (from the Muppets) for parts of this song. My favorite breakfast you ask? Fried bacon & egg, with cheese on toast, and sautéed onion & mushrooms over the top.

They played this in Seattle, but it's hard to remember the song out of the whole concert if you hadn't listened to it before. They play with a backing track in all their songs, even live. Thanks for all the great breakdowns in the song writing. I have always thought that Band-Maid appeals to musicians because Kanami is such a studious music geek that musicians will really appreciate their writing. We also know that Akane and Misa write their own parts based off Kanami's outline, and then Kanami puts it all back together, oftentimes without much editing. Anyways, this song is amazing. So epic yet uplifting. The orchestral intro started from Sense and they've said they're interested in incorporating more elements like that in their other songs, and this one being the result.

I witnessed this song performed in Tokyo as 12th song in the setlist and Band-Maid played it in 12 out of 13 US concerts as 8th to 11th. Most of the audience at those venues had of course already known their skills and talents. When I heard that they played this instrumental piece as opening at Saitama Super Arena on Nov.6 as support to Guns N' Roses (like they did at Aftershock), I felt very proud of them. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to GNR fans who did not know who the girls in maid outfit on the stage were. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Great video, love the commentary! I dont mind the pausing/rewinding at all, I love the input you provide. This song is one hell of a song! There is such an emotional presence in the song. You can really feel the emotions that are being played out with the instruments. I describe this song as powerful like the ocean and Kanami is the mighty tide. She builds things up like a wave builds up and then all the instruments return to create that crashing impact that waves have. It would not have been possible for Kanami to blend so many crazy things together into a cohesive composition without have confidence that Miku could hold things down on the rhythm. Miku was SO essential to keeping everything together. She provided a solid foundation that could have easily been swept up by the ocean tide known as Kanamis playing. Miku really is the glue that holds everything together.

As for songs/mvs to check out: - Pierrot Dancin', great MV and just a banger overall - CAN DO, probably their most well known song due to being a Kurono no Basket OP - CRACK STAR FLASH, fun MV, although definitely a flashing lights warning if needed - BEASTFUL, more on the metal side, but such a damn bop. Slight gore warning for the mv though - QUESTION TIME, main song of their latest album and honestly, ist one hell of a more jazz/funk song with rock elements, but it's so good! And last recommendation - SUPERNOVA, it's just such a beautiful song and MV, definitely something to check out Sorry if I went overboard, I just LOVE this group a lot!

But anyway, if you like this sort of song try 'Different'. But if you want something really heavy, I'm talking bordering on Thrash, try 'Rinne' (Reincarnation), either the Original Music Video or the Live-To-Tape Okyu-Ji, both are excellent, though the picture on the OMV is grainy because it was shot on 8mm film because the Japanese horror film the song is based on also used a lot of 8mm film.
