Hi Tony, what's up? I was just told about this video and checked it out, I think you really did a great job man. You hit on a lot of the musical elements throughout the song. A lot of people understandably can be a bit overwhelmed or just hear "a lot of notes" when pulling up drumming from this genre. I've been writing, performing, and producing this style of music for a long time with many different artists, and I can tell you that a lot of thought goes into the compositions. Things from the dynamics and choices of rhythms, how the instruments play off each other, are often very well crafted. I've been drumming personally over 30 years and spent extensive time learning my instrument and learning from some great instructors. I'd love chatting about music and drumming in general, especially about this genre, why I make the decisions I do, hit the cymbals I do, use the kit configuration I have etc. I have a Twitch channel as well and do weekly drum streams. Darren Cesca might be one of the best death metal drummers, and by virtue one of the best drummers, of all time. I know the title is offensive, but there’s an old playthrough from one of his first bands, Goratory. It’s called A.I.D.S. (The full title is even more offensive), but it is one of the craziest drum playthroughs I have ever seen to date. He has like 4 different snare drums on the kit for different blast beat tones.

Hello from New England..Great kit and great playing..This guy has such a killer vocab and facility to actually pull it off he never seems lost and his technique is top notch..I was going thru your playlists and I'm not see any GOJIRA..Mario Duplantier is a frigging alien lol...A really killer intro vid to them would be the SICK DRUMMER MAGAZINE vid of SPACE TIME LIVE...This will give you a drum side view of him and his whole kit it's high quality and the sound is good..Any Gojira fans that read this let's get Tony turned on to one of the best drummers and bands in the genre..Hope you check him out.. The visuals may or may not be present. That depends on copyright restrictions. I almost guarantee you that I wont comment on the visuals as I am pretty hardcore into the musical side of stuff. I am reacting to the anime in episode format on Patreon tho
