I played drums for 15 years in my youth-I'm 69 now. I no longer play but drums remain a passion and are always the first thing I hear when a song comes on. There are so many great drummers-for me: Borlai, Harrison, Coleman, Portnoy, Phillips, Donati to name a few. But in all my years I've never experienced a drummer/musician that has as original a take on the instrument. Everything he does is intentional. His headspace is simply unreal. Love the enthusiastic, informed commentary of your reactions.

He referenced that many people who react to his content don't get into the nuance of what he is doing so he felt the need to explain the video. Man, I'm so glad I'm not a percussionist. Many don't like the word "GENIUS", well I'm sorry for many, but this guy is a "GENIUS". I have been studying music since I was 7 years old, and never in my student or work life have I seen anyone play like that, I have seen exceptional percussionists, I have seen incredible ones but this man is a "DEMON" playing the drums, literally. The great violinist Nathan Milstein once said, "Either you can play it, or you can't play it," as simple as that. El Estepario is an ABSOLUTE GENIUS, and in his immense modesty he encourages us that it is possible, but it is a lie. Understand that for that genius it is normal, and what we see seems impossible to us, for him it is normal. We are facing a phenomenon of nature, a Failure in the Matrix. For me he is the best in the world. But that is my opinion.

i think part of his charm is the fact he is not a metal drummer or anything...He used to play in one of those bands that attend weddings and town's parties.. He learned more than 250 popular and traditional songs of many diferent styles while working as a profesional drummer in said band. This means he has played so many diferent styles, so many diferent styles the average drummer simply will never learn.. And this is why i think his aproach to music is so diferent than the rest of drummers you see around.
@darrkstarg11 ай бұрын
@@TrikipumI agree. His exposure to different styles and his working those styles into his own playing has absolutely been a component of his playing. Also you got to look at his practice video's. He shows people how to do what he does. He also doesn't believe in "talent". He always makes sure to impress that practice is what got him where he is. He even has a video where he goes over old drumming videos and commenting on his own development as a drummer and how it has changed over the years.

El Estepario Siberiano's precision and accuracy in his kit mobility and limb independence is second to none. He is laser precise regardless of the pattern or tempo. But he puts in the work to do it. When he's not touring, he's practicing 6 to 8 hours a day, every day, and he has been for like 15 years according to one of his previous videos. What do I think? He's the best drummer on this planet. Not only is he the most technically precise, he has an such incredibly positive attitude and he inspires others to get better at their craft. His playing is tasty as hell and he is dedicated to drumming and on top of all that, he is humble. It is inspiring to me (and others I am sure) that he admits he is not perfect. His message is that what we end up watching is the end result of countless hours of hard work, practice, frustration, patience and dedication to "nailing" a performance. Not to mention what you said about his 1 million sub video...the years it took him to get to where he is now. I've been playing for 40 years and I cannot pull off what he does. Not even close. However, I didn't put in the amount of hours that he has. He found his limitations and blew past them. I cannot fathom all the frustration he felt throughout those days, weeks, etc. to break through that ceiling. I could only imagine the happiness he felt when he figured it out and discovered what he was capable of doing. He deserves all the success he is receiving! The man is simply on another level that most will never attain. Best drummer in the world and nobody could change my mind on that. Great video sir!
