"Music of the Spheres" was composed in August and September 2016 for Morris Palter. It is scored for drumset and vocalist reciting an original verse by the composer, with a background of music provided by the prerecorded audio. The title refers to a philosophical/cosmological concept proposed by the ancient Greek mathematician, Pythagoras. His experiments in the 5th century B.C. revealed profound numerical relationships within the musical tones produced by vibrating strings. The rhythmic relationships of tones in vibrating strings - heavenly music, but at tones so low as to be inaudible to human ears.
