Scintillating performance by The Cavemen. The Cavemen is a Lagos based ‘Afrocentric influenced’ band founded by Kingsley Okorie and his brother Benjamin James and came up with a genre called Highlife Fusion. The Cavemen combines afrobeats, highlife, jazz and soul music. They currently have two singles ‘Osondu’ and ‘Bolo Bolo’ and are working on a whole lot of music in the upcoming years. I am by all accounts a phenomenal bass player (at least in the real life sense.) I often find myself, as someone who grew up dreaming of being a rock/pop star and it never happened (YET! amirite??) I always find myself being negative (read: jealous and hypercritical) about musicians who might not have 'made it yet'. And 9/10 I'm right to be fair. But these boys.... I love watching these, because the musicianship is so phenomenal, in a way that seems so natural - kudos, hat tip, well done, whatever synonyms you choose. These two boys are exceptional, and I hope they continue to go far. Blessings, Kingsley & Benjamin, you are using the talent God gave you in the best way and long may it continue.
