8:10 as someone who grew up listening to 1st gen kpop songs, i can say that having some random English in korean songs is not something that red velvet were pioneers of. it has been a common thing in kpop since 1st gen in the 90s.

About 36:30 , Red Velvet records lots of voices in the songs, because they can. Some songs have sections with more than 30 vocal layers. So yeah, there are lost of vocals in the background of every song. hidden harmonies, hidden adlibs, etc. They also have a range of tones and power pitch that makes the unison choruses to sound like harmonies when it's not. They are a freak vocal ensemble.

I got the same question as well when I saw rv killing voice is it like one take or not lol but who knows. Anyway, rv members do have a really good relationship with each other. You can see it when you watch them that they are like sisters, especially if you watch Level Up Project. Irene literally used to iron Yeri's high school uniform lol. It's one of the reasons that I like this group so much. Too bad they don't have a lot of content together. Their chemistry gives me a warm feeling, they are wholesome. They truly care about each other a lot. I remember Joy expressing how mad they were about Wendy's whole accident and how non-apologetic the official apology was. They were in a lot of pain back then so I'm glad they're doing well and even better now.

The sample used on Feel My Rhythm is Sebastian Bach's Air On A G String and it was released on his birthday. Red Velvet used Bang Bang as inspiration for Dumb Dumb. They also did the same thing for the chorus of their song Power Up which used Avril Lavigne's song Boyfriend. Power Up was not included in this KV performance.

@@valenandtheo They are definitely retouched in post production. Usually these are included in the backing track. You can hear and actually see it in this KV 'live' performance. Compare it to Mamamoo's Killing Voice and you'll see it used less because Mamamoo's was the very first KV and the main vocals and ad lib vocals were 95% live with minimal pre recorded backing vocals. There's a raw and unprocessed live version available that was uploaded by accident by Dingo Music which was quickly replaced with the post production version. Solar peaked the mic levels a few times and was off key a couple times while Hwasa had a cold during the performance so her sultry voice was more sultry than usual and her vocals were adjusted slightly too in post production.

About 14:15 , When you sound like they do, you dont need to sell other toys or features. The songs, even the b-sides are great. They sell good music and that's it. That's why they are the most respected kpop act, but not the most popular.

Red Velvet have the best female vocalist in kpop but as a group they are not the vocal queens of kpop. That honour goes to Mamamoo, the reason why Killing Voice was created in the first place. Mamamoo debuted less than two months before Red Velvet and are good friends, especially Seulgi and Moonbyul. You should check out Mamamoo's Killing Voice. Fun facts. Wendy (RV main vocalist) and Solar (Mamamoo main vocalist and leader) are the two best female kpop vocalists and they share the same birthday, 21 Feb.

Finally someone praises the mix. Killing voice have some awful mixes, maybe because singers are not that good. Red Velvet also don't improvise (maybe Wendy sometimes only). They sing live exactly as the record, so that also helps to the mix with an back track and not a live band.

SM should have incoporated much English into their lyrics to make rhyme. But with success of BTS wordwide, Kpop industry has found new market in the English speaking countries, thus there is a lof of English to the extent that many Koreans have to look up the words to understand the Kpop lyrics.
