I've said repeatedly that people preparing to play female superheroes should watch Tatiana on stage to prepare for the role. That's her persona though, real Tati is a shy, chronically depressed, and strikes me as kinda nerdy but in musical way. (Imo her ability to rise abover her personal limitations to become what her art needs her to be is incredibly inspiring) Though most of the band aside from possibly Eugene the bassist seem to be hardcore music nerds. Roman took the lead on writing most of the music to their songs before the Wallflowers album where Vlad the drummer (the only classically trained musician in the band, on piano; though he also plays guitar well enough to do Gojira covers) was more involved in leading the composition process. Tati gets demos of their compositions and finds inspiration for titles and themes, writes the lyrics, and weaves her vocals into the track going mostly by feel and relying heavily on improvisation. Jinjer is Tatiana's 8th band since she got serious about singing after hearing Otep, being shocked to learn Otep is a woman, and having an intuition that she'd be able to shock people like that some day. :) Great follow-ups include Perennial live at Wacken for highly technical cleans, On The Top live in Kiev (Kyiv) for more belting, and Pit Of Conciousness live in Kiev for lower growls (and the Kiev videos are extra cool because she'd totally badass in a long black kinda flowy dress). Teacher Teacher live in Melbourne is kinda disappointing from a musical standpoint because Eugene's bass is low in the mix, but Tati's vocal technique is quite impressive with very fast switching both ways and a bit of rock rap. She's not a vegan (tried in the past) but tries to eat clean, does not, and never had a vocal coach (self taught), does not warm up, smokes cigarettes, and drinks. An amazing beast!

Tati is not vegan, she smokes, and doesn't warm up before performing. Her vocal coach is/was herself, although she had a very tiny bit of training on clean singing when she was young. She taught herself how to do false chord screaming, didn't like how she originally sounded "girly" when doing it, and worked hard to develop the sound she has. False chord screaming when done properly doesn't hurt your throat, if it did she wouldn't be able to switch to singing cleanly. There are plenty of performers who blow out their throats night after night and ruin their voices because they don't have proper technique.

Actually she is kind of part-time vegan when she is at home. There she tries to eat vegan but on the road it`s almost impossible because she doesn`t find vegan stuff easily - and well, she`s hungry... 🤣🤘

She says growing up working class in eastern Ukraine being able to eat meat was a luxury so its very tempting now. She jokes she wishes eating people was an option because it would be more fair than eating animals haha. Metal af. ;)

She's tried to be vegan but being from a poor war torn country there isn't exactly a lot of choices for food sometimes. She is well known for her stage presence and gets quite a workout on stage. Probably more so than most people who have a workout routine. They are excellent live. 7:34 The whole band are insanely talented! Tatiana is an absolute genius lyricist and singer but in reality is a shy introvert who once on stage is like you see her on your reaction! You really need to see her live away from the studio to really appreciate her, Perennial live at Wacken is probably the best one to see, it is a raw live outdoor concert and the last song of the set so this tells you a lot about the sustainability of her vocals!

Tatiana is an absolute metal goddess (and the band members are all incredible musicians and songwriters). I just saw Jinjer play live at the House of Blues in Boston at the end of November and they rocked the place. She can definitely pull off the instant transitions from beautiful clean singing to the aggressive growl/scream harsh vocals in concert. In regard to your comment that she must take good care of her voice, Tatiana has said in interviews that she doesn't warm up before gigs or do anything special to take care of her voice between gigs and she continues to smoke every day (she also taught herself how to do the growl/scream vocals).

She does a very safe and controlled false fold growl, which is why she can go back and forth with no fatigue. The fact that she figured out this incredible technique by herself makes her even more amazing to me.

I love Jinjer, the whole band is amazing. How is it you have not reacted to Nightwish, thier vocalist Floor is considered one of the best in the world. In fact their song Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013 is the most reacted to song in KZbin history. Highly recommend.
