The best part is that they are an answer to each other. "Throw your mask away" is the final boss' plead to the Thieves while "I believe" is them telling them to shove it essentially.

Throw Away Your Mask is one of the best final boss theme in any video game, IMO. I didn't think much of it when I was actually playing the game, but going back to listen to it it fits so perfectly, and has a perfect air of finality.

Not gonna Lie: when "I believe" hits for the first time in my playtrough, I spent almost 10 minute in front of last palace's entrace hearing it. Man, never tought they could do better than "Life will change", but they did. Best OST of the Year, in my opinion.

The music from The Royal makes me extremely emotional and it's hard to go back to and listen to without having such fond memories of the game and the surprises and reactions I had for all of it. Not to mention when I streamed the game spoiler free, I voice acted every character where there wasn't any voice acting. I appreciate how Royal put MORE voice acting scenes in, but at the same time, I remember all the voices I had for each character from the FIRST time I played P5 base game, and that just makes all the emotions even stronger. You really do feel like you're the character when you're voice acting them. Makes me really appreciate voice acting and not gonna lie, it does make me want to pursue a voice acting gig.

I Believe basically became my favorite song to jog to. It hypes you so much, it's simply uncanny and it really pushes you to forge ahead at double speed. It's literally dope! Our Light and Throw Away your Mask come close second, especially when the drops hit. Meguro absolutely nailed it with the new tracks in Royal, to the point that playing the base game after listening to them feels reductive.

Life Will Change up the steps of Futaba’s palace was pretty cool back in vanilla P5, but this is just next level. I was so initially offput by having another threat after December, because I thought it would “devalue” the ending of the original, but man the third semester was an excellent addition and really a love letter to Persona 5. The questions it asks the player are awesome and have brought P5 to a new height.

I Believe was such a surprise for me. And as I ascended the last Palace with this track playing, I had to stop for a minute because I was legit tearing up. Persona 5 was already one of my favorite games, but Royal turned it up to 11. And this track makes you feel like "This is it! This is your time now! No one controls you!"

Gentle Madman is my favorite song from Royal. So peaceful and eerie at the same time. Perfectly fits the situation. Our Light's lyrics are heartbreaking, but also inspiring as well. Royal just has songs with such good tones.

This is one of my top 3 songs in the Persona 5 soundtrack! Such a beautiful send off and triumphant climax to the phantom thieves (and your) journey. No one could've done it but Lynn and she KILLED it! That coupled with all the call backs to other songs in the soundtrack. This is my #1 hype song, I get hit emotionally every time i hear this song.

Something I love is how everything comes together/full circle: P5 Vanilla: Wake Up Get Up Out There was present in Life Will Change: "So you know that we're out there, changing lives in the making, now it's ours for the taking, now you know that life will change!" P5R: Colors Flying High + Life Will Change in I Believe: The riff in the beginning is from Life Will Change, and then the Colors Flying High portion comes from the following lines: "It's our turn to get back, to grab the future, which we full believe, and it's not given to us...it's earned...." Overall, I still love Throw Away Your Mask/Keep Your Faith better, because it gives us great insight into [Spoilers]'s desperation to change everyone else's lives for the better. I wasn't sure how to feel about P5R's music direction when stacked against P5 OG, but I'm glad to see there was still some musical fidelity in certain tracks like I Believe. Definitely a great addition to the OST, and gives me a similar jolt to the one I got when I first heard Lynn's amazing vocals in Rivers in the Desert ⚡⚡

Love this song~. And hearing you go in depth with these beloved themes has quickly become a nice way to unwind or re-experience the tracks in gaming music I love so much. Seriously. Props. ♡ And so, this might be out of nowhere, but I had been trying to remember what soundtrack I had been wanting you to hear each time I see one of these videos. Kid Icarus: Uprising's OST is probably one of my favorite OSTs on memory. You seem to like when music has epic build up. Well, happily, This ost is at least 50% that kind of music. I can't remember who the musical talents were, but the soundtrack alone has dragged me back to this game-- despite the odd claw style controls-- so I could hear this music all over again. I love this game's music and I think you will love it, too. Give it a listen if you get the chance.
