actually, almost of the part of ghosts were took some of urban legend but as long as i read the manga till the recent chapter, it hadn't both of that two. Rather than the Turbo Granny in this series were got some modification from the story. The real Turbo Granny was chasing the driver who drive over the standard speed at Japan. It's just like a folklore which want to tell us, "please drive carefully."

Dandadan has 2 sort of origins. There's the onomatopoeia for when something scary happen, like in movies we would say "Dan-dun-dun" there's also three japanese words that is on the third volume of the manga which are "Kaidan" "Kidan" and "Taikendan" all three of them back to back basically means " Ghost stories, strange tales and recounting stories"
