all leitmotifs that I know: hornet - the intro sounds vaguely reminiscent of the vessel motif (aka hollow knight's main theme) but is definitely not the same, pale king/hornet/white lady motif at 0:16 of the song and possibly what I call the battle motif due to its prevelance in boss themes, the one exception being when it is used in white palace at 1:08 (listen to 0:59 of sealed vessel for comparison) im not 100% certain the notes are a match but they are definitely similar reflection - what im pretty sure is the pale king motif plays in different variations throughout, 2:46 of white palace sounds pretty similar to 1:20 Mantis Lords - The intro is the aforementioned battle motif, what i think is an altered version the mantis motif most notably heard at 0:37 in fungal wastes plays at 0:12 City of Tears - the melody is the radiance/dreamers motif, could’ve sworn 0:47 tied to resting grounds but cant find the connection, maybe it was an in game thing only? chances are im just remembering things incorrectly also fun fact, the reason city of tears is in constant rain is because the lake above it started leaking through the ceiling, causin the "rain")

After finally beating the game, I'm happy I can watch these! I really like your analysis on Hornet's theme and adds more to her character. I felt the theme was great for her personality and tenacity in the game and plus having strings as the strongest facing instrument works well for her. She uses strings herself in her fights!

What I love about Hornet is the use of alternating and overlapping bars of 3/4, 6/8, and 12/16. Since they’re all meters with the same total value, they can be played at the same time to create cool polyrhythms and Hornet uses this rhythmic concept so well! I also loved hearing you improvise over the tracks. I’ve also never seen a fretless viper before. Pretty wild

Environmental storytelling at its best is what I have to say about this game! I hope one day you do the full ost ! Its totally worth it! Its a masterclass in design when it comes to music! Words can't even do enough justice to this ost !

Within the first 20 seconds you had given perfect classical categorizations and descriptions to these pieces that I never even would have considered, and you build upon these pinpoints so well in your actual analysis! I always feel so enlightened coming out of these videos but even moreso with this one. 6:42 Heh, very fitting how describe Hornet's theme as so elegant because of it being in the style of chamber music, where every player has to be expertly trained and not make a mistake, and then here when you play along it you're essentially joining the chamber group!

I have played through the game 7 times and 100% it each time, and the mantis lords will always be one of my favorite fights. They are challenging and if you beat them, you get access to a area you get to later in the game, which allows you to access many other areas if you brave the depths.

The Mantis Lords not only are fair, but they dance in game with you while fighting, bu this i mean that it doesnt feel like a battle, but a set of moves made with coordination that you have to dance with

It's sad that even having the bgm audio either on default or maxed, i cannot remember ever being music in the boss rooms, unless the song is very strong to break through to me. Unless it's a slow down time when you just get to a beng and you sit beside that npc i forgot the name and just rest while watching as the water falls into the city of tears.
