Music Producer Reacts to 'Next Level' by AESPA for the First Time!!

Beat changes is actually aespa’s signature. Almost all of their songs even their bsides have beat changes.

I like how you mentioned the 80s, I think that's a bit of the draw of aespa (for myself at least), they do have sort of a retro feel about the beats, and then they throw in the 'swing time' music with stellar vocals and...rapping. They just really keep my attention.

Chronology of the entire storyline with an explanation of terminology: 1) In the debut MV "Black mamba" we are introduced to the concept of aespa and shown the first appearance of the Black mamba - which is a malicious virus that has invaded Kwangya and severed the connection through Synk between humans and æ, resulting in the "Synkout" phenomenon broke out. The ending makes it clear that Black mamba emerged from negative emotions, on which its existence and strength directly depends. It continues to grow, absorbing everything around. Also, we may have been hinted that Karina is somehow connected with her and that perhaps she was trying to lure Karina over to her side. Based on "æspa ep 1. Black mamba - SM Culture Universe", it can be assumed that Black mamba is able to tempt and subjugate avatars, who change and actually turn into evil and consumed by greed. In addition, when an avatar is infected, the person associated with it can also become infected. "Kwangya" - a digital world in which æ are located, which exists outside the Internet and is not controlled by any laws. It is an unexplored, boundless and eternally expanding, unbridled extension. In Korean, the word "Kwangya" means "wilderness", meaning wild lands, wastelands, jungles or deserts. "Synk" - a signal connector through which people and æ communicate with each other (works like a messenger). During this phase, æ has the ability to access information that only the prototype actually knows (on a psychological level). As the interaction deepens and lasts, Synk develops into "Rekall". "Rekall" - the process by which an avatar appears in the real world through "P.O.S" for a limited period, as well as the time that a person spends with his æ. "P.O.S" (Port of Soul) - portals that connect the digital world with our own. "æ" - individual organisms that are formed on the basis of the totality of the information that we upload to social networks, taking a physical form like ours. (data about us during the process of creating an avatar is accumulated and collected in reality and then sent to "Flat") This is an alter ego with their own personality, which have artificial intelligence that allows them to communicate with real people, support them, make friends with them, help, exchange information, cognize our reality, and also move from one world to another. Although æ take shape in our likeness, they also have their own unique traits and develop their own consciousness. æ is "we" and not "we" at the same time. "Flat" - the place where æ came from and where they live, outside of which is "Kwangya". When the æ are in Flat, they can be communicated with through Synk through the various technologies and applications that they infiltrate. 2) "Forever" within the framework the group's universe narrate about aespa's acquaintance with their æ, about how a strong and reverent bond has arisen between them, which they cherish and want to keep it forever. The girls enjoy the time spent with their avatars, saying that they will always be with them, sharing both sorrow and joy. The song is filled with nostalgia and warmth for those days before the appearance of Black mamba, when everything was still good. 3) In "Next Level", aespa (and æ themselves, on the assumption of "æspa ep 1. Black mamba - SM Culture Universe") go to Kwangya (which Nævis directly contributed) to find and defeat the Black mamba. The lyrics tell the story of their journey into digital reality in search of the villainess, where they together overcome the difficulties and obstacles that stand in their way. Nævis guides, edifies and introduces them to the world of Kwangya. The lyrics also spoiled the events that take place in the next MV "Savage". Black mamba wants to hinder them by separating the girls via the hallucinations she has created and breaking them. They fall into illusions, where they lose their voice and balance, and they are condemned and criticized. Apparently, Nævis gets them out of there. An experience like this tempers the spirit of the girls, and they are already not what they were when they first got to Kwangya. "Nævis" - a guide system that keeps order in the digital universe and connects æ and people. She was directly the one who brought the two realities together, telling the avatars about their "other selves" and opening the P.O.S in our world. 4) In "Savage", aespa have already become a real problem and threat for the Black mamba. They developed and learned to control their fighting skills, which are discussed in the b-side track "ænergy" (Karina - Rocket Puncher, Giselle - Xenoglossy and light control, Winter - Аrmamenter, NingNing - E.d Hacker), so when faced with the Black Mamba, they are no longer afraid to fight back. Also in Kwangya, aespa reunited with their æ and now fight shoulder to shoulder with them. The villainess continues to lurk, hiding behind illusions, but the girls have learned to see the enemy's weaknesses in the algorithms, destroying her and blocking the possibility of recovery. Somehow, Black mamba manages again to move away æ and aespa and lock each one into individual glass spaces of hallucinations that have become even more dangerous and serious, because they consist of their fears and vulnerabilities, which greatly affects the minds of girls, touching a nerve. The girls are already fed up with dirty tricks, and they are no longer going to tolerate it. They break through the hallucination quest and taunt the Black mamba, as if to say: "Get me now, gimme now, or i'll become more savage! Game in. Don't forget, this is Kwangya, i control your time and space" Nævis was the one who protected them when they were in trouble. The victory (but it's unknown if they destroyed her completely) over Black mamba was due to her. They are grateful to Nævis for all that she has done for them, providing different opportunities. For the sake of victory, she even sacrificed herself. aespa promised that when they meet again after her revival, they will definitely help to find her lost memories.

You should check out more NCT 127 in the past to aware how crazy, hardcore, “NEO” their music is, cause SM gives the “weirdest” to NCT 127. But i think i addict to that weird vibe anyway.

Remember, this is the 2nd song in a story. First Black Mamba, then Next Level and then Savage. Also check out story from SM, re; Kwanza. They just did remake of SES Dreams Come True. Aespa is very unique, they have broadened Kpop to the Next Level! Love this group.
