Got mine for $1200 with a nice stand. I feel like that was the proper price... it’s not built very solid and it has a to. Of odd ball quirks but it can sound so cool when you dig in. I love using it for LOFI sounds as it has those sp404 effects. I wish the analog section had some drift (the oscillators of the analog side are very stiff). But it’s really easy to get classic Roland sounds out of it for sure.

much better to buy used. I don’t like that the keyboards right under 2000 were plastic. That brass sounds good tho. Good vid bro.

Still love mine, the "crossover" works great. Layering for the win! The Matte overlays are a must though. Luckily I got mine when they still sent them out free if you asked.

I am definitely waiting till these either get cheaper, or I can find one bran new but used. I heard some people make some of their own patches with this, and they are something else. I have the JD-XI myself, and I'm getting some really nice stuff out of that, and it only has two digital synths, one analog, but the best part is the added drums. If Roland made a Roland JD-XI 2, I would get it in a heartbeat...SBN RESONATE

You should have both as I do cause there isn't much overlapping there. But having both would let you cover the vast core sound of Roland.

That sounds like you only demoed the initial factory patches, which were widely regarded as rubbish, and very pcm sounding like you mentioned. Check out the patches that are installed after the 1.5 update, & the patches supplied on the axial site featuring banks by artists & designers. maybe do a follow up vid, with some sound design?

BS. It's not "he worst synthesizer ever made" just because of the fact that it cannot be worse than any primitive synthesizer made before. Perhaps you aren't just smart enough to get your had around it to be able see charm in there. And it's OK as crowd is always wrong.
