My guess is Apple will eventually port Logic Pro to the vision pro. This would be the killer app that would make me buy the vision pro. Being able to lose the mouse and edit audio; mix on VR faders, even perhaps play a be piano or guitar- would be amazing

I could totally see that happening, so crazy to think about! Thanks for watching :)

Being a recording engineer and multiinstrumentalist I'm beyond excited for just having a window of logic pro follow me around while i walk instrument to instrument being able to record everything myself and edit in realtime. Sounds incredible. With logic supporting dolby atmos I can create spatial music content on the go, then create spatial Visualizers to go with my music. No need to hire musicians while i engineer

Interesting thought experiment. I’ve been saying that concerts will be the way you said for the last 10 years. Same thing with being surrounded by people in a mash pit. Made some posts on some audio forums about it over the years too. Crazy to see technology start to catch up to my thoughts.

I sort of see a virtual studio within the vr experience, where it looks like all real hardware gear, with virtual trs/ts cables, virtual XLR cables, virtual EQ, compressors, reverb units and racks, virtual mixing console... That would be insane

I was searching for a good VR DAW, couldn't find anything that didn't seem to be an experimental project, then I found this video. This video is incredible. While watching, I started to feel the power that this technology could bring to music production, at least to people like me. I have a really introspective and intuitive way of creating. This, at the same time, makes me want to be in a studio to have access to various physical instruments. However, I know that I wouldn't have the same inspiration that I do when I am by myself and with all the time I need to create. So, I either would need to invest enough money to have my own studio, OR... I could buy a Vision Pro and a good DAW with most of the features talked about in this video. I truly believe this future is possible and not so far away from now!

Benn Jordan hit the nail on the head with his recent video covering VR music production. It’s little more than a novelty, even after decades of development. Apple Vision devs *might* push some boundaries of this medium, but I fail to see it paying off in a revolutionary way for music production. What about AR/VR would help us work faster and more efficiently in our favorite DAW, that would also exceed the speed and accuracy of tried and true input methods of midi, iPad, Mouse + KB? Big virtual screens are nice - but real world screens are too and are more comfortable for long hours of work. VR instruments are no replacement for the tactile feedback we get from real instruments. They’re fun, like playing a video game is fun - but they don’t improve on reality, imo. Augmented reality and AI could be combined to add useful context to our real world instruments - highlighting chords for us, or giving us a waveform display or other useful info/graphics above our synth or groovebox, for example. I think it could be a useful utility - just not a game changer. But maybe I’ll be proven wrong in the long term.

I had all of the same thoughts when the aviation Pro was initially announced (and a few more ideas of my own which aren’t in your vid). I disagree, though, that using AI generated avatars for famous musicians isn’t a good idea. Its inevitable. In the future, there won’t be ways to control this factor, so we might as well embrace it.

I love that your asking the questions, but they are more like dreams. ("What if we could do this?") One thing I know from experience is that the digital age of DAWs and plugins hasn't helped to make music any better. It only made more mediocre music. None of this is necessary to make great music and the best music was made without any of it. It will create a virtual world of a house of mirrors where the images are what your doing, not making good music.

I agree! It's just a possible new way to make music, but the music itself may not be better. It may make some elements easier in the future, like collaboration, but only time will tell. Thanks for watching!

It’s just a tool. There’s Always Been crappy music- I’d say 5% has always been great- the rest meh. Consider how many composers are still performed from 200 years ago- just a handful just like a handful is played from 20 years ago
