I know this is 9 months too late, but I really loved these 2 videos. As a musician and Zelda fan, I really appreciate the effort of compilating all these little references in a compact but still detailed and carefully crafted video. I can feel your passion for the franchise and hope you enjoy your other proyects as much as I can tell you enjoyed making this video.

You can clearly see how much the composers love this franchise. To put so many little details like this, Zelda is truly special.

Wonderful, again. Some might be a little far-fetched, but still, I loved it. For the theme associated with Ganondorf that you couldn’t remember where else it was (23:30 of this video), it was also in the memory when he transforms after getting Sonia’s stone, followed by Ganondorf’s theme right after.

The main difference between the blight themes and the calamity ganon theme is the time signature. The blights are in 3/4 while ganon is in 4/4. Count the beats in each measure, the blights have 3 and ganon has 4 Ganondorf also has 3

18:10 I love the spirit temple theme. There was something about that temple, when I was 10 years old and we finally got there (my brother, friend and I) it was at the very end of a long winded journey, and it seemed like we had wandered off the map, to some far away land, and then boom, the track hits. Now that it's linked to the molduga track, it makes me wonder if the temple was constructed to ward off the beasts.

23:47 There’s another cool detail regarding the music in relation to when in the cutscene it is played. The series main theme exists in universe as The Song of the Hero, as established in Skyward Sword. It is essentially Link’s song. When does the leitmotif come in during the memory? The moment Rauru utters Link’s name.

thank you for putting in the bit at 28:08 (and again around 42:25)! but I think you put in the wrong part for the alttp bit. I think it should be the second part (about 30 seconds in to alttp's zelda's lullaby) and not the beginning of the theme

@ocarinamom2915
@ocarinamom2915 3 ай бұрын
🙋‍♀️ 100% agreeing ! The main theme is the Hero’s theme (or Link’s). In Skyward Sword, we even participate composing it, or learning it part by part. And in BotW and TotK, it is clearly intended as Link’s theme, because we see the duality with Zelda’s lullaby everywhere. Riding a horse during the day ? Zelda’s lullaby. During the night ? Link’s theme. In this « not this time » (or « last catch ») where Link is about to catch Zelda, both their themes are playing. Etc.

I'm glad Part 2 was worth the wait! Again, it blows my mind that I'm usually pretty keen on musical references, but you folks clearly have much better ears than me! There were a few things I noticed, though: -When you highlighted the mini-game theme sounding similar to that of Ocarina of Time, I actually thought it sounded more like the Cucco Den in Twilight Princess, or perhaps more commonly known as the music played when Link is launched from Lake Hylia to the City in the Sky. Maybe there's a dual reference? -In the final battle, I could have sworn I heard the battle theme against human Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time in one of the early phases. -When you pointed out a musical similarity to the title theme in Ocarina of Time, that reminded me that said music is in itself a reference, as the ocarina melody that first plays in Ocarina of Time is the same tune you hear when playing the flute in Zelda 1! Since you folks are so good at this reference stuff, do you think you'll ever make a similar video for the Mario movie?

rauru’s theme is just the first 2 notes of the zelda main theme heard at 24:48 while most of it is unchanged from botw, the pulling the master sword theme has the first 3 notes of zelda’s lullaby with that chime like noise at 30:04 i believe the start of phase 2 of the ganondorf fight is the ocarina of time version of the theme i’m also gonna keep mentioning that geoglyph easter egg since that one is such an unnoticeable detail that somehow got noticed and i love it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6Spi5R3mZZsbc0feature=shared

Great video as always. It's awesome to see new channels popping up offering new insights into this game series. My only feedback, particularly with some of the more difficult to hear tracks, like the good bye gibdo theme, to loop the tracks more than once back to back. I know in editing you hear the music over and over but as a lazy viewer, I don't wanna have to track back to hear things over and over 😜 plus you benifit by getting more view time. Again, great work!

This game's music is SO beautiful, it's such a shame all of it is ruined by some of the poor design choices nintendo made with this game... Saying all of it is ruined by poor design choices is definitely a massive overstatement. The Sages’ Vows were undercooked but there’s nothing else that stands out to me as a flaw that could “ruin” the game.
@alongal407
@alongal407 Жыл бұрын
@@AshenDust_ I don't wanna go over it now, but the game's storytelling is absolutely horrible, the storytelling is linear, but is unlockable in a non linear way.. there is absolutely no reason as to why they couldn't have just locked memories until after you beat the 5 temples. But it's mainly the dialogue that got me fucking screaming.. just that feeling when someone goes "I really wonder what happened to zelda, I really wish I could know what happened to her" and link's just standing there silently, fully knowing what happened to her.. or someone going "wow the zonai history is so cool! I wanna learn all about it!" Or how link doesn't tell purah about getting the master sword until after he beats the 5th temple, or how link doesn't tell purah about what happened to zelda when he fully knows what happened to her... I mean, there is literally a scene the player has to go through where all the sages gather to think what happened to zelda... And I just sit through it. And it's all because the story progression is non linear, and I was just doing each one of the memories before completing all temples, and I was going to the korok forest before completing the 5th temple, so I had to sit through mineru talking about the master sword until she finishes and goes "seems like you already have it" THEN WHY TALK ABOUT IT AND HOW I MUST GET IT IF YOU ALREADY KNEW BRUHHHHH. The story is expected to be done in a specific way, and absolutely does not work in any of the other ways. Still though, the game is one of my favourite games of all time, it's just that if it wasn't for this I could have loved it so much more.
@AshenDust_
@AshenDust_ Жыл бұрын
@@alongal407 oh ok, so just story stuff then. Yea that definitely could’ve been better. I do like the non-linear memories though, it leads to each player having a different experience of the story. I got the one where Ganondorf invades Hyrule with a bunch of Moldugas really early and spend a lot of the game wondering what led up to that, and when I got the memories that gave me that context it was very satisfying.
@alongal407
@alongal407 Жыл бұрын
@@AshenDust_ that's the thing, it leads players to having s different experience, but only those who completed the 5 dungeons first and the the memories in order would have the best experience, and likely no one did that as the first memory is on the path to rito village which was likely done intentionally, and I'm also a completionist, which means I did all the memories as soon as I could, and basically spoiled the game for myself. And the worst thing is, that botw did perfectly on this part.. which makes me feel like botw has better story, when it absolutely does not, totk clearly has a story with more depth, and that is more interesting, except here they use the memory system which does not work with this story, this is a story that can't be told out of order, it's not like they talk about different unrelated things in each memory, like they were in botw, they talk about a story, and that can't be viewed out of order, I mean, at least have them play in order regardless, who would want to view them out of order?! I mean even the first memory, which you have to stumble upon, already tells you what happened to zelda, that she was transported to the past. And non of link's dialogues acknowledge that and link keeps it to himself (and impa) I honestly think this game could work amazingly with ai generated dialogue
