The Fourth Terminal in the Wind Temple is such an eerie piece of musical storytelling. You start off with a shaken, unsteady arrangement that sounds like flying in turbulence which weaves into the theme from Rito Village. But I call it by Revali's Theme. Initially, it carries its light, soaring attitude. But the notes don't reach where they are meant to. They twist and fall, like a bird dropping from the sky... into Vah Medoh's theme, Revali's tomb. From there blares Tulin's theme, almost as if to tell you that if you're not careful... he's next. To drive that point home a few notes play, over an over like a heartbeat, faltering, dying. And it's slowly drawn in by the stinging elements of Colgera's theme. Within under two minutes of score, you are being reminded of Revali's death and told that Tulin's next if you fail. It's such a chilling and powerful message that doesn't say a single word.

One thing I don’t hear people talking about much are the Skyward Sword references in the Demon King’s Army theme. For context, I will be referring to the DKA theme uploaded by DylTheis Productions (dyltheisprod) on YT. You can hear a slower, more subdued version of the drum track in The Imprisoned’s boss music throughout the theme, most notably at around 0:48. There’s also a lighter, very subtle resemblance to the SS horde battle theme in a few sections, such as at about 1:32. What stands out to me most is the fact that the SS references in the Demon King’s Army track have a more heroic, upbeat feel to them when compared to the original SS tracks. It makes sense in this context, as the army battle is simply the final hurdle to overcome before you can face Ganondorf. The original SS tracks are more frantic and dramatic sounding because both are played in a desperate situation where you need to act fast, or else the entire world is in grave danger.
@leoschunn99611 ай бұрын
This is pretty cool but I wish you categorized some of the important melodies better. Several times (like at 4:49) you refer to TotK's "dragon theme" as the AoC main theme/spirit tracks thing, which while it does absolutely share the same notes, the dragon theme is absolutely something different; and in the moment I time stamped, Zelda says "I know why I'm here"... and the dragon theme plays... just a cool musical moment I wish more people noticed.
