We took an Old Town Trolley Tour of Nashville, a very efficient hop-on, hop-off tour, and here's the part when we drove through Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee. November 11, 2024. **Music Row in Nashville** is not just a district-it's a living testament to the city's status as "Music City." Located about a mile southwest of downtown, it centers on 16th and 17th Avenues South, known as Music Square East and West, and includes nearby streets. This area has been the heartbeat of the music industry since the 1950s, home to recording studios, publishing houses, record labels, and organizations like ASCAP and BMI that support artists' rights. One of the most distinctive features of Music Row is its appearance: many businesses are located in charming, residential-style buildings that look like homes. Behind these welcoming facades, however, are the inner workings of the music industry, including high-tech recording studios and offices for music publishers and producers. This contrast between homey exteriors and the cutting-edge creativity happening inside underscores the district's character. Music Row's story began with the opening of the **Quonset Hut** in the 1950s, Nashville's first recording studio, followed by **RCA Studio B** in 1957. These studios helped define the "Nashville Sound," blending country music with orchestral elements to appeal to broader audiences.
