They are really gifted with a lot of talent and they are writing their own songs, they are not casted or something like that, it´s just impressive. If they come to my country (Germany) i go FOR SURE to a concert! I am just a little bit sad, that i did not know them earlier... Nice reaction and just go for an LIVE video from them, i did not found one bad song so far (and they got round about 100 songs).

Matt there's a band called THUNDER MOTHER and they really do sound a lot like ACDC and they have just had a lineup change and they are still good just like ACDC was . Check out their new songs DRIVING IN STYLE and RACING ON MAIN STREET its seriously good. They are not as technically clever as BAND MAID and when you see the little bass solo you will immediately think how lucky we are to have MISA or just laugh because we have become spoiled by killer bass, but the fact is ACDC are very old now and I think one of them might even be dead but THUNDER MOTHER really is keeping that sound alive. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

they are not a punk band, but more of a hard rock group. they have such a late 80's to early hard rock sound which i love. MIsa (bassist) and Kanami (lead guitar) and the rest of the ladies are just so damn talented.
@outwest10144 жыл бұрын
The members of Maid-Band are all to one degree or another professionally trained/educated. How they work, Kanami (lead guitar) composes the music, sending (via internet) it to Akane (drums) and MISA (bass) for bass and drums. Miku.(vocals, rhythm guitar, band founder) writes the lyrics. Then to the studio where all of them complete the song. Saiki (vocals) is the one who calls "we're done". Likely because the others would work on a song forever. On the last album apparently Miku and Saiki arranged the order of the songs. Recap, they write arrange and produce their own songs. Of course as you just heard they are highly talented and skilled performers, no electronic tricks needed. If you think you play a musical instrument well, there is a Japanese lady who plays it better than you!! (stolen) Everyone BE SAFE sheltering in California.

Band-maid are so good, I wanted to write them off as a novelty thing..because, you know.. cute girls.. weeb culture popularity.. they get a few gimmies that way... but no they are talented as all hell haha. Maybe not my favorite genre but they're bad ass😁
@RevStickleback4 жыл бұрын
"weeb culture popularity"... oddly that really doesn't seem to be there for them too much. The core of the fanbase, outside Japan at least, seem to be people who grew up listening to rock, and thought it was pretty much dead as a genre, until they discover Band-Maid. They don't really play up the cute factor either, other than for the "oh....so you thought we were going to be a cutesy band, did you?" which was the whole point of image - to sound nothing like how they look.
@paravarium4 жыл бұрын
I don't know, I think they have a lot of weeb fans like Nightwish does. I frequent reaction channels all too much lol 😅but I'm forced to stay at home and music is life. They're pretty much always requested by the same audience. When I was 23 I use to listen to tons of power and symphonic metal, and I always noticed those bands used in anime and gaming clips just about as much as Linkin park (36 now 👴lol) Anyway my point was there's nothing at all to take away from them and their music 😘 they earn it

I miss playing and going to shows. I can see how you could compare them to No Doubt. A friend of mine mentioned how Saiki (lead vocal) reminded him of Gwen Stefani. They blend lots of different styles of rock music, from pop to metal, and yes, even punk. They just have that familiar sound without sounding derivative of anyone. Hoping to see them in the U.S. in 2021.

I think you should listen to Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram, very talented musicians, the drummer is a beast, both guitarists not only they can synchronize but they play neoclassical solos where they pick every note separately which is extremely difficult and risky while playing fast, they also brought violin to the band and very strong female vocal,

Watch their live video for their latest single, "About Us". (Even during the pandemic, they're still doing live shows [albeit livestreamed]). They were supposed to play Budokan last month, and they wrote this to play at Budokan. Unfortunately, it went from in doubt immediately after it was announced (it was announced before this show), to no overseas fans, to canceled. When the announcement came that the show was canceled, they decided to do what they'd already done three times prior, and perform live to a virtual audience. (I was in said virtual audience, and it was the best show I've ever seen. [Granted, I've only seen one other show, and that was Rush in 2010, but these ladies are better than the three lads {RIP Neil Peart} from Canada]) This song shows a different side of Band-Maid, a softer side (even softer than "Start Over", which is another one you should definitely check out), and it's perhaps my favorite song at least of theirs. (I would be more confident in saying it's my favorite song ever, but I've on a Pearl Jam kick recently, and the entire _Vs._ album kicks ass.)

Some people mention Band-Maid are the most talented. They sure are one of the most talented; however, Japan has a plethora of really talented musicians. Example: Lovebites (power metal, currently the best out there with two ladies shredding better than anyone currently and a drummer who is just an energizer bunny) check When Destinies Ali;n, Scandal (have their own label, multi genre, all sing, write, arrangements and active for 14 years. They are the ones that paved the way for almost 100 of all female bands), check A.M.D.K.J, Saishuheiki Kimi, Masterpiece. Then you have Mary's Blood, Nemophila, Aldious, Doll$$box, Bridear, Passcode and the mixed group youngster Asterism, and to mention all male legends One OK Rock ... And then you got Visual Key and Babymetal and Wagakki Band. I could go on and on for hours.
@siscob4 жыл бұрын
@paco acosta I do agree with most, but Scandal (they all sing, write lyrics, compose, do arrangements and dance when needed :) ) and Lovebites are also equally talented as a "band". I'd say Misa could be #1 as bassist, but Miyako, Midori (Lovebites) and Saki (Mary's Blood/Nemophila) are a bit better guitarist than Akane, at least from what she showcased for now. I mean, in-sync dual guitar over hand tapping isn't something you see often, if ever. Tomomi from Scandal is a pretty decent bassist too and Haruna drummer from Lovebites is just an energizer bunny on steroids :) And that is just from the "well known-ish" bands.
