This song really does give off that vibe of being the starting point to BMTH's choice to come full circle and ENCOMPASS their musical direction over the years. Now lyrically, there's dialogue in the game that is a direct link between the two. I noticed it when I binged a 7+hour long cutscene montage of the game one day. "How do I form a connection when we can't even shake hands?" And I think there's one or two more in there too, I'm almost positive. Musically, I'm glad you mentioned the shuffle! It felt familiar, and now I know why. Also, choosing to tease with the faux-build up after chorus 1 into the reset, then the scream middle of verse 2, the pause before the 2nd chorus. I love how blatant they are with it! There's almost a build-up WITHIN the build up that let's you know "we're gonna do it, hold tight and listen, give it time, come on now stay with us." and then they hit you after the verse 2 pause with EVERYTHING they were teasing with. I listened to this AFTER Parasite Eve, as I'd been enticed by all the YT hype ads. I gotta say I wasn't 100% sold on Ludens at first, but its the type of song that once you pick up more nuances each time, and you learn to appreciate it more with every replay.

I've seen BMTH live many many times and I can definitely confirm that the beginnings of their shows are always full of tension, it's SO good. Last show they played near where I live, amo hadn't been released yet but they used a completely instrumental version of "I apologise if you feel something" as the intro to their show, together with some crazy lighting effects. It was a blast.

Best live band currently touring and producing new music!!! I’ve seen 12 shows in Michigan and then 3 Midwest shows road tripping to Kansas City, Chicago and Pittsburgh since 2009 and 3 times in 2019 during all three legs of their North American Tours that year with different supporting acts! It’s been amazing witnessing their maturation as a live act!! Resulting in 2019 at 20 Monroe Live in Grand Rapids, Michigan a small sub 1000 capacity after seeing them earlier in Detroit at The State Theater with thousands in attendance. In Grand Rapids the intimate setting but the same production quality, the same energy, the same raw emotion Ollie’s performance and being so close and able to get right to the stage, and crowd surfing getting a fist bump from Ollie made it the best show I have ever been to and probably ever will be since whenever they make it back stateside for a full tour it will not be in small sub 1000 capacity venues(which even then was drastically smaller than all the other venues have 5-10 thousands in Detroit and 4-6 thousand in Kansas City)! It was Grand Rapids where it really struck me that they especially Ollie have made clear and determined decision to not just play a concert but to focus energy to put on a well oiled, choreographed, stylish, complete rock show ready for the Arena Headlining Tour that will be the next live tour when they invade the States returning as the hands down kings of live performances by modern bands!!! Oliver Sykes Stand Up, Take a Look Around and Emphatically Continue to Scream What Band Is Better in the industry today than WE ARE!!!! Since Jordan joined permanently during the recording of Sempinternal and since Jordon and Ollie gained the confidence to decide we are doing all/majority of the production for our Albums going foreword has this trajectory became clear from hardcore MetalCore/DeathCore Guttural screaming of the lyrics to the most innovative, risk taking, willing to experiment with every new release making challenging creative and genre shattering jam after jam after jam all different but all with an obvious and clear connecting line that is different than anyone else and most likely what all bands hear and say “well fuck, that’s what we were aiming for and we thought we nailed it but obviously BMTH are masters and we are amateurs when set side by side!” The journey from Count Your Blessings but really starting with Suicide Season and especially since Sempinternal when The current and most likely final line-up coalesced to present a sonic journey unlike any previous and most likely any to come after of evolution maturity and confidence in the music they make for themselves and no one else has been honestly so thrilling and rewarding! Whenever they can start touring fully again worldwide the headlining ARENA TOUR reserved for the biggest and best acts in the world will be ooooooo sooooooo satisfying from seeing them as openers with a dozen kids rocking by the stage performing their hearts out to captivating massive crowds in massive arenas with crowds that will rival any concert crowds by the biggest pop stars, legends of music and rappers as they rightfully ascend to the throne and take their place as the BEST BAND TOURING AND CONTINUING TO RELEASE FRESH NEW BRILLIANT RECORDS not rock band but BAND in the industry as a whole!! I said and need prove just watch Die4u their newest single and hear the unashamed pop hook and chorus, mixed with angsty mid-aughts pop punk, mixed with electronica synths, hip hop rifts, all wrapped up in the roots of BMTH MetalCore insanely and expertly produced, with vocals that while still distinctly and unquestionably Ollie Sykes but with the range and talent on the same level as the best vocalists around today, and ooo yea some oooo so satisfying growls and screams! A definite pop arena anthem that is genre destroying and completely unlike anything else previously released yet so distinctive and obviously BMTH in the way that true fans have come to expect yet are always blown away when new songs drop pushing the sonic envelope creatively and fearlessly that the music industry requires from special acts like them so that new heights can be reached and music evolution and progression can be achieved making the world of music the emotional and foundational elemental of the human experience we need it to be and continue to be and to help us escape, rejoice, celebrate, memorialize, remember our past and build a better future out of it!!! Seriously biggest fanboy ever going through endless reaction videos of all their music after spending 48 hours listening to, comprehending and savoring Die4u and the statement it makes and essentially being BMTH standing talk shouting “Who is a better Modern Band in the World Right Now as innovative, creative, fearless creating unique, thought provoking, genre demolishing smash hit after smash hit?!?!? Who does this better than we do and we are putting rock on notice it’s time to step up and challenge hip hop as the place where the best music is being generated by doing exactly what rock bands do destroying boundaries, creating innovative songs, and continually challenging and pushing the envelope without fear and with our fist in the air and the mosh pits raging and the crowd surfers flying!!!! BRING ME THE HORIZON now is the time that those who have been in the dark to what you do see the light and finally receive the recognition, admiration, and acknowledgment that what you do is important, what you do is necessary and what you do is make incredible smash records every single time without ever missing, disappointing all while refusing to rest on your success by just reproducing the prior hit and always experimenting and mashing genres together in a way all other bands dream they could but as always you prove that while some may imitate and try only BMTH can do it flawlessly and masterfully every chance they have!!!! BMTH is the band we never knew we needed and don’t deserve until we realized they have been what is missing and exactly what the music industry needed and now through hard work, endless effort, unmatched energy and style the journey has reached the culmination with the evolution and maturity and talents all lining up perfectly to blaze the path forward and proudly bare the torch of Rock Music re-emerging on the main stage with Pop Music, Hip Hop Music as trend setters, innovators and the best of the best that the music industry has to offer!!! I’m done Mic Drop, Mark my words 2022 BMTH finally takes the world by storm reaching the heights we all knew capable of when the confidence, talents, and maturity of having a solid consistent band line-up all dedicated to challenging themselves to create innovative and original music which blurs any genre lines existing while still planting roots firmly in heavy rock, metalcore, punk rock but crossing over to mainstream success on their terms! BMTH may be the most important band of the 2020’s and I for one am screaming yes boys it’s been a helluva ride so far since 2006 and never has a band deserved the worldwide success and critical acclaim more than this bunch of chaps!!!! Finally the world will take notice of this band and ask themselves what the hell have I been missing out on for 14 years these are the boys I’ve always needed in my life and I can’t believe it took me until 2022 to discover them!!!

Found you through your BMTH reacts and been through a load of your old vids and you're killing it. You should check out Enter Shikari, they've been one of my favourite bands along with BMTH for over a decade and are constantly evolving with a huge back catalogue and unchallenged live performances. Can't begin to think where you should start with them so I guess the beginning with Sorry You're Not a Winner

Hey Howie, BMTH best songs are from their 'There Is a Hell Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven Let's Keep It a Secret.' Album . . But could you convince David 'too do to close to touch' or 'a skylit drive' balance. I have so many songs that many ppl don't listen to but are great

Oli explained the meaning of this song. I forget the details, but I'm pretty sure it indeed was about cough drops.

In reality, "Ludens" is the name of the Kojima Productions mascot, their website has something on it that says "From Sapiens To Ludens" and Oli saw that and felt inspired. It's about how humanity's greatest asset and hope is creativity and ingenuity, that so long as humanity survives it can hopefully find a way to adapt to new obstacles ahead such as climate change. "We need a new leader, we need a new luden" is about seeking leadership that will use that creativity to tackle those issues.

I would LOVE to see a reaction to Greta Van Fleet. My favorite is Black Smoke Rising but Highway Tune is like a love letter to early Zeppelin and I would love to hear what you have to say about it.
