One thing I've always admire from bring me the horizon is that they don't hesitate to change their sound. Every album you listen from them is like a different band, and that's what makes them so interesting. That complexity is amazing.
@Obi_Wil_Kenobi3 жыл бұрын
They are so ahead of the game. Every band tries to follow them and just fail. Cause they change it up so often. They go pop punk and everyone else copies but they've already realised another heavy song. Brilliant work from a fucking talented group of artists.

It's awesome to hear other people appreciate how brilliant they really are. I hate ppl like I just like their old stuff. They have no idea about the talent and skill they have to be able to actually fully change the way they do not just a bit in a few songs that sound different but full albums of complexity so diverse it's actually changing genres not just their sound. Do you know the band Karnivool??
@jonr56383 жыл бұрын
@@Obi_Wil_Kenobi Yeah, I don't get it neither. I started listening to them since suicide season. And honestly I have appreciated everything they have bring to the music scene. They have grown a lot as musicians.

I've been a fan since Sempiternal but I new a few of their older songs first. I don't think they've ever done anything I didn't like. I even like to listen to Music to Listen to~Dance to~Blaze to~Pray to~Feed to~Sleep to~Talk to~Grind to~Trip to~Breathe to~Help to~Hurt to~Scroll to~Roll to~Love to~Hate to~Learn Too~Plot to~Play to~Be to~Feel to~Breed to~Sweat to~Dream to~Hide to~Live to~Die to~Go To like it's such a vibe to just chill out to that whole album. You should check out Karnivool if you don't know them they are from Australia progressive rock I guess you'd call them but if you appreciate BMTH I think you'd really like them. Ian Kenny the vocalist is fucking brilliant just like Oli has some really different songs from heavy to soft he is also the singer for Birds of Tokyo another Australian band that are alot more kinda classic Aussie pub rock. Type of songs bands cover at the local pub but still have some really good songs
@nikkiq24943 жыл бұрын
though this song isn't my preference of their stylistic portfolio, you can't deny that they are insanely talented to be able to swing between a heavier metal sound to something more mainstream. Also, their courage to do whatever they want without worrying about alienating their fan base is admirable. Although I'm more a fan of There is a hell/sempiternal/that's the spirit, I will throw this on when I'm feeling more pop-y.

This song shows that they don‘t just change their sound, they take things from their past sounds. This song has elements that sound like they‘re from „Teardrops“, „Mantra“, „Heavy Metal“, „Throne“, „True Friends“, „Can You Feel My Heart“ and other songs of theirs. They just keep evolving and building on top of their old stuff, even though my hopes of a second „This is what the edge of your seat was made for“ will probably never be fulfilled…
@StuartMitchell883 жыл бұрын
Their production reminds me a lot of Linkin Park. Always on the cutting edge, super well produced, not afraid to experiment and play with new sounds, styles, etc. If you told me that Mike Shinoda actually produced their music, it wouldn't surprise me at all (thought I know he doesn't; lol).

100% looking forward to this new EP and how it's going to sound compared to the last one. Doesn't matter what they do, I will enjoy it since they enjoy it. People will always criticize a band for changing sound, especially if it sounds more "mainstream", but anyone who does that was never a fan of the band itself, only their sound. It's fine to enjoy a sound, but you should never talk crap about people just because they don't fit into your box.

The biggest reason I love Bring Me The Horizon is because of their EXTREMELY unique ability to just make songs that if you were described to on the street would be like "no way that works!" but then when you actually hear it, you're blown away. Kingslayer is a big example of this. It's a shock song that is also fantastic. I also love that Oli can always be very raw in a lot of his songs. It helps you connect to him in a way. I haven't gone through everything he has, yet the way he feels I can relate to. That's very special. It's also really special to have a band continue to doing cool things, new things, and still reaching in the bag of old tricks and putting out great song after great song even 15+ years later.

I love that Jordan wrote to you and I love that you continue to react to their music. It'd be amazing to see some sort of a collaboration. I love this song. I know some fans are disappointed when they go away from their heavier sound that they originally had, but I like all of their stuff. I love that they don't take themselves or the metal genre too seriously that they get stuck in a box that they don't want to be in. Oli has stated before that he thinks that some of the rock community has a problem with turning their nose up at anything that isn't the traditional rock/heavy metal and I agree. If it isn't your thing, cool, but you can't expect an artist to not practise their art in whatever way they see fit based on your personal preferences. In music, there's always something for everyone

I recently went on a band hunt looking for more interesting metalcore music that incorporates synths, strings and things that are a little bit different. Its really hard to find anything as creative or interesting as BMTH. I found that the difference between metalcore/djent bands with 50 monthly listeners on Spotify vs 100k listeners was so small. All of these smaller bands are able to replicate the sounds of bands that are much bigger than them. The issue is that they all sound almost exactly the same. Maybe a vocalist is better here, slightly better production here. But without anything added to the music, you might as well just go back and listen to the same 3 or 4 albums that pioneered the sound. I am very glad that BMTH keep trying to mix things up.

Nice breakdown of the song! Spot on with the analysis of how they do what they want musically and they’ve written a few songs about that (why you gotta kick me and heavy metal). Love when artists basically call out fans that are stuck in the past and won’t allow them to evolve Excited for this record. They said they would blend their 2 most extreme sounds together.
