The kid is Layne's nephew. If you look really close, you can see a green glint (like Oogie Boogie green) flash in his eyes (similar to when Earl sings about the monster under the stairs with eyes glowing red and his flash red for a brief second or two).

As many times as I've seen this video, I had not caught the green flash until you pointed it out. Cool! The shot from behind of Layne's nephew knocking on the door is actually Geoff's wife Kathy in the costume, on her knees, because the lad had trouble knocking in the right spot.

The thing that impresses me about this arrangement and performance is how phenomenal Geoff’s breath control is… and Layne’s for that matter. Just keeping the whole song moving and bumping the entire time.

Bad Candy. I have 5 grown grandkids so I have seen this movie hundreds of times over the years. VoicePlay and Geoff both put our new Halloween videos for this year. VoicePlay did Freinds On The Other Side and Geoff did The Monster Mash.

Love VoicePlay’s version. They’ve also done Kidnap the Sandy Claws and What’s This. I recently watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and kept hearing the VoicePlay versions in head while watching the movie. Thanks for your reaction

I really don't want to see the movie, I don't like that style of thing, but I do like what VoicePlay do with these songs. Friends On The Other Side is their latest offering, and Geoff's Monster Mash is a hoot. Both are well worth a look. VoicePlay are all about harmonies, as are all a capella groups, but they do it in very unique ways.

seriously you are missing to some amazing songs this is likely one of Danny Elfman's best movie scores (if not the best ) and he also voices the main character but only on the singing parts. The movie combines very well the haloween feeling with some melodies at points that are quite christmacy therefore some people love watch it on either of them 2 holidays though of course mainly haloween. Also apart of the amzing vocals by Ken Page as Ooogie Boogie (the jazzy gabling boogieman) and among others Peewee Herman as one of the trio of Oogie's kids (best trick or treaters) the cd version of the soundtrack has intro and outro narration by Patrick Stewart

Well if you love this movie you'll also have to check out Pentatonix's Making Christmas. They created a lot of the melody to sing since most of that song is speaking parts by the characters.
