Great video, I need to replace the PSU on my S1000 too. I've never done it before... Is there any risk of electrocution? What should I be careful with?? Can I just unplug and unscrew the thing and that's it? Any tips? Thank you!!

Hi - this might not be the best learning project so I would see if you can find someone who repairs TVs, electronics and so on who could do it.

Hi thanks so much for making this video.. I was hoping you could answer 1 question, was any soldering required? Like a straight swap of wires?

Hi Gareth - yes there is no soldering required. It is just disconnect/reconnect. Mounting the new PSU is best done with some drilling.

Please help! I have a nee PSU ready and there are no technicians where I live. How can I swap the old for the new one? Is it just unplug the old and plug the new one kind of thing after disconnecting the sampler or is it dangerous? What are the do's and don'ts?? Thank you!

Hi Mountain - I would recommend keep looking for a technician if you haven't done this before.

That is a nice-built power supply, Cosel, high-end power supply, shame if it was thrown into a bin. Changing all electrolytic capacitors, especially in PWM control and it will run again. Mean Well is good but not as good as Cosel.

You're probably right it was a well-built power supply. Once upon a time I would be up for desoldering and putting together a BOM but honestly a drop-in replacement was really nice and paid in time saved.

@Faisal-pf3vj Just looking on a spectrogram both my S1000s with meanwell PSUs have some hum coming through up to 1.5k. S950 is much quieter.
