It’s just a calling at this point, I remember buying my camera in December 2018 hoping to make KZbin vids such a vlogs. Basketball IRL, Reactions, Gaming. Etc etc. one day I was at the park filming the homies hoop and a random guy asked did I shoot music videos. I replied no, but I had the urge to say yes. Fast forward a few months later I found myself in Texas helping a family member out with his hustle shooting videos around his town. Basically his right hand man sleeping in his studio. Now I’m in LA one year later with just a camera and laptop. I wanted to be the one in front, never in a million years I would think I’d be going down this path. Crazy how life just flip your world outside down and make you think outside the box to achieve your dreams.

I use tripods for studio recordings with multiple cameras to capture lots of b roll. It helps when you need to focus on solos and to cover performers' (or cameraman) mistakes. It makes syncing a breeze. Also grab stills of anything that has the band's logo or unique equipment.

Great information! I will add for the blurred background effect, focal length and distance from subject make a huge difference as well. 200mm at f/4.0 or f/5.6 will look similar to 16mm at f/2.8 with a subject close to the camera. Just pointing out that the aperture is not the only factor Also, you said “DSLR recommendations” for all mirrorless cameras lol

I shoot all my video in 60fps but in 24fps timeline. In my opinion it still gives me that 24fps look and I can slow down when ever.

I would try to switch it up between 24 and 60. It may look similar, but there is a very small difference. By switching your frame rates, this is what takes you to the next level as a filmmaker, trust me!

If you do end up filming in a framerate that's too high for what you're going for, you can always reduce the framerate in your editing software. You can always remove frames but you can't add them back in if you do end up needing them.
