I know that Bruno has elevated Anderson’s name but his personal music is so worth the recognition. 😩🤩✨ Thanks for this reaction! So many great tracks on his Ventura and Malibu albums!

Gotta see him play live. Check Silk Sonic 777 @ the 2023 Grammys in Vegas. Talk about sick! Just be ready for a certain wig.😅

Anderson Paak is absolutely incredible...hes also into HC punk and Metal. Hes a true musician. Likes it all and can play properly. Look how good and tight his drumming is, WHILE singing and rapping real well. Hes amazing. His bandmates are also incredible.

Heyoo, fellow prog/metal/rock and also Anderson lover here! “Put Me Thru” by him is very much more down the Stevie Wonder/Prince lane, so would be a much more accessible track for you and maybe therefore easier to get into! But, yes lawd, this track rules!! I myself also struggle with highly repetitive riffs/ostinatos but have found that, those who do the “same riff for the whole song” kinda writing best, are usually those fellas with the soul within them. Don’t forget, this is the kind of music where prog came from ;) For even more great Anderson, “Heart Don’t Stand A Chance” has some awesome time signature/tempo changes and fills, and “Make It Better” is a real smooth, groovy vocal showcase!

I found you through Tool but I absolutely LOVE a lot of the Tiny Desk stuff. Definitely here for you exploring more genres.

Love this! I was blown away when I first saw this performance. You and I have very similar tastes in music - you should check out a band called Punch Brothers - any live version of the song "Familiarity" - it may just blow your mind. :)

The music video for Silk Sonic - Skate is really great, and it's a more musically interesting tune beyond the tight groove.

Check out Silk Sonic's performance of 'Fly As Me' from the Soul Train Awards. Listen to the official audio of 'Put On A Smile', my favorite from the album, or watch the official video of Silk Sonic's 'Smokin Out The Window'.

This track rules. If you want something that explores more groove/ostinato I'd recommend some Thundercat. Maybe the track "Oh Sheit it's X" so there's still some underlying virtuosity/dynamism with his bass playing. Love the reviews as always! Keep em comin!
