Wow that was an incredible reaction thank you! It's so awesome to hear how this song is still hitting people today even though its been out for two years, (technically 10 i suppose) so thanks for sharing man. We're still working on promoting our stuff and haven't quite figured it out yet hence the lack of reach and subscribers. But we'll keep trying. We're working on a new album currently and I've been saying that for the past 2 years to anyone who asks haha but we're on the cusp of begining our release cycle for it since its a hefty hour+ album with multiple music videos in the works as well. And cause I'm here I'll confirm all your other thoughts: - To the arch echo comparison, we went to school with them and I (Sam) produced all their latest music videos :) We even did their first headliner tour across the US in 2017 so really good friends of ours. And Adam Bentley of Arch Echo did the final mix on this production. Such a talented dude! - Intro sounds were a combo of Posthuman and Spitfire Evolutions I believe. - Yes that a cello in the begining - Yup it's a 2009 BFR version of the Petrucci guitar I got a few years ago and was 100% going for "The Count of Tuscany" tone with 6 tracks (2 cleans, 2 piezo's, and 2 acoustic guitars - I'm a petrucci fan boy) - That little transition in the breakdown is a reversed guitar chug. If you rake a chord and reverse it you get the sound of the rake in reverse as a riser :) use it all the time lol - Middle section is all Spitfire, Posthuman, and a few others that escape me at the moment. - Adam definitely loves all your vocal comparisons. He's our post hardcore/pop guy keeping the musicianship grounded in a commercial/accessible way. You nailed the vibe. - All your thoughts about the video are spot on too man damn, I (Sam the guitarist) produced and edited the video. I was also the main composer but these guys took this version of the song to an insane level I could never have dreamed of on my own. Also YES that is real piano. It was tracked on our pianist Richard's home piano setup I'm not 100% on what the model is but its a Yamaha. We're definitely not deserving of this much praise but this was a ton of fun to experience with you again! We'll check out some of ur stuff too, you're definitely sharing a lot of the same influences as us, so please DO NOT quit music 😅

Thank you so much, Sam. Thank you for not only watching but providing such a detailed response! It's reassuring to hear my ears were accurate for the most part! You guys are absolutely unreal! Best of luck for the new album, can't wait to see the new videos pop up :) If you're interested in having a peak at any of my stuff I just released a new single there last week - would love for you to check it out if you have the time. Best, John :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5-6lmadlJyjp6M

What a class response and now I know why I loved this song! The Count of Tuscany is my favourite DT song and some vocals sections remind of the band Thursday or Cinematic Sunrise!

@@andrewbradley6538 Woah I'm checking out some of that now. CS is on Equal Vision, we love that label. And yeah The Count of Tuscany was my favorite song in high school and that album was very formative for my early guitar playing.

So am I crazy or is there a small piano piece missing in this song from an earlier version? I feel like I’m going batty

Really enjoyed this. The best part of your reactions is watching the music translate into assorted painful grimaces and stank-face. Top notch.

What an incredible song (or more likely a piece of art) and what an amazing analysis. Thank you so much, man. Thank you for an introduction to Aviations music and for such quality video music analysis. Don't want to sound so complementary, but you're just the top of youtube with those reaction/analysis. And your original music is great as well. Keep doing this stuff, please.

Ok, I hate to "necropost" ... I mean this reaction is almost a year old at this point, but only just discovered this band a week or so ago and have been trolling the reaction vids since their discovery (yes, I live under an effing rock ... in the middle of KS no less). Anyway, when I first discovered them one of my earliest thoughts was "I wonder what JW Soundworks will think of these guys?" (based on your posted music, hell the intro to your reaction videos). At any rate, at this point I honestly believe that if you don't end up lifelong friends with these guys (or at least host them for a pint or two should they show up on your shores) than the universe is obviously flawed and broken. I'm just so happy they and you exist in this tortured timeline. :) (maybe that's the Makers' and cola talking but this has been a tough couple of months and seeing this reaction had warmed the cockles of my dark little heart) :D

Nice surprise! Enjoyed it. To me it sounds like they've been listening to Haken. Similar riff styles. This was bugging me as this also sounds also like another Berklee College of Music group, Native Construct. Isn't it great how music can move us?

Wow never heard of this band, brilliant is al that comes to mind. These kind of bands and in particular the bass player make me realize, although seeing myself as a somewhat decent bass player, that I still have a long way to go as a musician :) not at al frustrating btw, but very inspirational!
