I have read this book a long time back akka ..hearing about it again with your wonderful sadhakas is apt...as deep as an ocean and also the jumping and the speedy waves you have chosen the fast akara sadhakam and touching the deep lower most sa is wonderful akka.thanks for reminding this sea gull

Undoubtedly, the book is seen as a metaphor for human desire for transcending the normal/ routine/ usual to exploring the path to perfection. Some 12 years back when my son was learning Tabla from a Guru and I used to sit and watch and after the class, try to play the percussion.(The Guru was kannada speaking but was from Hubli -Dharwad region) and after every class he used to say: "mehnat maadbeku" - [half Urdu, half kannada] and on some days he used to talk about good tabla players and said some of them practice 12-14 hours daily to discover the right rhythm.
