Shows the North - South divide was there even then...In 1958 my dad bought a three bedroom terraced in the, (almost), Fiveways area of Brighton for £1,750....(today they're going for over £700,000)...as against £550 ("about twice what it's worth" in Manchester in 1964)

My grandparents paid £900 for their 2 bed terraced house, with outside loo, in Ilford.
