Just received my Pod Go and since I’m a “Old Schooler” from the early 70’s with a Marshall half stack, Strat and a wah plugged in and turned up, this is all really new to me. I’ve watched this video and wanted to say THANK YOU…! This is by far the absolute best instructional video I’ve seen on anything…!! It’s really helped me get the basics down. I wanted to see if you have some additional videos on the SNAPSHOT part, the guides 8 octopuses and 8 tentacles each equal 64, is fine, except I’m still trying to figure this out. Also I want to learn about the IR’s as well. I keep looking.. Again great video and many many Thanks from this Old Rocker Dude…✌️

Just bought mine today. Very basic demo from music shop assistant who was unfamiliar with it but managed to set up a couple of presets quickly - regular expert guy lined up yesterday (called Ringo!) tested pos for Covid last night so wasn't there. Not had chance to hook it up yet but from what I've seen and heard in the shop it's just what I need, having struggled with a Boss ME80 for last few years. But boning up on YT and this is the most informative I've seen so far. I have the assurance from the shop that when Ringo returns (I'm assured he will) I can take it down again and he'll give me as much personal tutorials as I need - excellent customer care from PMT Nottingham. But in between I'll be checking out these great vids.

Bought one of these this past weekend, not delivered yet. But trying to get a head start! so a couple questions ----1) I assume I can download all I need now before I get the unit. 2) when ready to load all to the unit, and also work on my first pre-set like you did, I also assume that I connect the unit to my computer, and then also plug my GTR into it as well, so I can HEAR what I'm editing and adjusting on the sound side. 3) also guessing I''ll have to hear it by hooking up a pair of my headphones. Thanks.....Good Video, and especially that you did not RUSH through the install portion!

You may want to update this video. I just got a Pod Go and it was very difficult to figure where or how to start installing the software/firmware. The manual says to start Pod Go Edit and it will instruct how to install. Well it didn't. The kicker is you need drivers installed first but there is nothing that explains how to do that. Luckily I found the Line 6 forum page that had a link on how to install the editor with drivers but it was an old version. I installed it anyway then went to the software update page and (again) downloaded the latest version. This time it worked and I was able to update to 1.30.0 on both Pro Edit and the Pod Go. It took me over an hour to figure this out!!

i swore off Line6 years ago, but after seeing no other new multi-fx products on the market i decided to give POD Go a shot. I was also bolstered by demos & reviews that disclosed that it's basically a budget Helix. I'm amazed at the quality of the newer boutique amps and for the first time the FX live up to the amp's quality. If you want a compact set-up for recording and gigging and can't justify $1-2k on a Helix or Profiler or a room full of stomp-boxes, then this is your solution. It puts a smile on my face daily when i'm creating tones for recording. Line6 is back in a big way...

Hey - with regards to the Input Gate. I've got some crazy noisey pu's (slick 57) and had to turn that gate all the way to -31dB to get a decent noise level. Is this ok? Are there any side effects I should be aware of or considering with this setting? Thanks!
@musicgearnetwork4 жыл бұрын
@@StephenWLong Hmm I am not familiar with those pickups, but having to adjust the input that high is concerning. I would personally look at other pickups. Usually with the average noisy pickup the factory default noise gate cleans everything right up. I have never adjusted mine past the factory default whenever I need to engage it.

@@musicgearnetwork Yes, indeed. I'm currently running a vintage POD 2.0 / Floor Board into the EFX return of a DSL1C in low power mode. It actually sounds pretty good to overcome the 1C's rather lacking tone and have some grit when you get the output volume on the POD just right. It makes for a pleasing platform at volumes that my wife can tolerate. I'm strongly considering the POD GO as an upgrade for the same configuration, improved DAW options and even a direct FOH gig rig.

In all pics and videos of the Pod Go I see strange hexagonal depressions (they look like depressions) near the knobs. See for instance the close-up around minute 21:50. It looks like spots where they could have drilled holes to accomodate other knobs. Has Line 6 recycled a casing from a previous product? Also, what do you think of the building quality/sturdiness/durability of the unit?
@musicgearnetwork4 жыл бұрын
Hey there. All of Line 6's units have these, helix, Stomp, HX Effects. I can ask the team for a technical explanation but my (non educated engineering skills) tells me that is from some type of clamping system they use during assembly while drilling other holes, or it is a rivet type system. I will ask for further clarification and post a reply. While I have not had a chance to take this unit outside (no one can really right now) it is built like a tank. My initial thoughts before I saw it at NAMM and now having one here is that it would be made out of hard plastic (for the price it is). It is built like a tank. Again, I'll report back!
@musicgearnetwork4 жыл бұрын
How is this for a Fast reply? 5 minutes after posting my comment, I got a reply from Frank. I was right on the money. Here is the technical answer: (hope this helps) "They are sheet metal fasteners that the PCBA (and other hardware) is attached to. Here is a pick of the component and you can see the hex shape. That is tacked to the sheet metal and the is what you see show through the other side." Also known as "standoffs" and here is an example of it: www.pemnet.com/pem-self-clinching-standoff-fasteners-in-range-of-types-and-styles-enable-mounting-spacing-or-stacking-of-multi-panel-assemblies/

I'm going to say what I did after error messages. My computer said I didn't have the app. So after you go to the download page and select "pod go" "all software" and your system. Hit go. It loads another page of many different download options. Scroll to the very bottom, then up one. To line 6 edit version 1.10. Hit get download. Then accept terms. The app should appear on your computer. Double click...it says error the code execution cannot proceed. So you need to download- "microsoft visual c++ 2010 redistributable package (x86)" type that exact quote in google search. The 1st thing that comes up should be it. Click on it. Language select. Download and install. Then click back on your pod go edit app and it should open....that's what I did anyway.

I commented on the other 2 videos you posted the same question on, but here is that answer. I tend to read all comments so you can save some time by just posting a comment once. Happy to help though: Thank you so much for your purchase of our presets! And congrats on the PodGo and Powercab presets as well! Our presets are all volume matched very close, however you will see some jumps a tiny bit in clean presets vs dirty (somewhat). For quiet home playing I would recommend settings the Power cabs volume anywhere from about 8 to 10 o'clock, and put your PodGo on full. Use your Podgo's volume pedal from there to suit to taste, however I always have my PodGo volume pedal full as well too. Keep me posted and thank you again!

@@musicgearnetwork Thanks for getting back to me and sorry for the multiple posts. Love your videos and all things VH. I have a Kramer vintage like yours in magenta flake. Great shred guitar. I'll let you know how my sound comes out. A bit of a learning curve with new gear.

Nice tip with the dual pitch gonna try it tomorrow on the stomp seems to give it a nice 3d effect.

Great video!I bought a PodGo but I'm new to multieffect pedals so here is my question. What do I need to connect the pod to the pc for recording but also having background music playing?

I miss the good old days when you demo’d EVH products. I guess you won’t be offering a demo of the new 50w Stealth head? Or the el34 5150’s? Some great new gear from them...

20:55 Hello could anyone tell me if there is a pedal that reproduces this sound? I mean one of those little ones. Thank you.

Even a cheap chorus will get you somewhat close to the sound. It's technically pitch detune, but chorus will get you in the wheelhouse.
