So, I decided to react to one of my all time favorite songs, by Jimmy Barnes. Oddly, I had never seen the video before and WOW! What a shock! #australianrock #musicgod #jimmybarnes #johnfarnham

Thank you for watching! Jimmy is absolutely amazing! Hard to believe I discovered this record in a dollar bin at Harmony House records back in the day!

@@MusicGodReacts really! Great story, lucky you. I feel in love with Jimmy as an artist in my teenage years. Prior to that my favourite band was INXS who I still love. I also consider Cold Chisel, his band, to be a favourite of mine, and will be seeing them on their 50th anniversary tour on 19th October 2024. Can’t wait.

Love this mans crazy vocals, his live performances are even better. Should check out him singing a cover of “a change is gonna come” live in 1984 it’s phenomenal

You're a man of your word. You said this was coming so here I am. Can't wait for more Jimmy and also more John!!! Two of the best voices ever Jimmy performed this song at the last concert of his that I went to just a couple of months ago.

Like I said, I've never gotten to see Jimmy live. Really hope that one day soon, I can afford another trip over to catch him and others perform. Had an absolute hell of a time coming to see Kevin.

Oh, I know. Still would love seeing him, even if was just the blues and soul stuff that he does now. Would still be an epic memory.

I haven't watched this vid in probably a couple of decades but I had it on vhs back in the day. The tape only had about six songs on it, this one, working class man, no second prize and a couple of others. I just about wore it out. When the beer was finished and the bourbon was well and truly underway, I'd slap this tape on and myself and whoever was still left would be mesmerised as if we were at a private concert. I don't drink like that anymore but thanks for dragging this one out. It was like catching up with an old friend.

When asked, Jimmy says this is his favourite song to sing to showcase his range as its apparently the most difficult to sing. It's actually not my favourite Barnes song but still love it.

Yeah, it's a fairly hard song to sing. Much more than it seems.

Just found your channel, you seem pretty cool, will keep tuning in. Have you heard much Cold Chisel? That's the band Jimmy was in before he went solo, awesome stuff. Jimmy went from Aus rock/ bluesy rock, to soul later on. He was a master of it all. Also, have you heard any Midnight Oil? They are another awesome rock unit from Australia of that period that I think you'd enjoy.❤

Yes I have heard Cold Chisel. Discovered them after finding Jimmy's solo stuff. And yes, I know Midnight Oil as well. Another killer band.

The guitarist is Johnny Diesel Jimmy's brother in law. Johnny also has a great voice and was the lead singer and guitarist of his own band Johnny Diesel and the injectors.

Sorry that what happenned to you in your trucking career but yeah, those chains and dog clamps are really dangerous. But I've loved this song since it was released, seeing those Australian-built Kenworths, International Accos, Fords and other makes that were popular and common on the road down here back in the 70's and 80's. It's also great on how trucks have come a long way in 40 years. Love Trucks and love Jimmy. The guy on Guitar is Mark Lizzotte or back then had his own band and he was known as Johnny Deisel and the Injectors....again..a trucking theme!!
