Awesome reaction! Glad you stumbled upon Charlotte - praised be the beanie of justice! Charlotte is an excellent songwriter, she just released her new album The Obsession and the variety and talent on it is off the charts - AOTY contender for me! Each of the songs is a unique experience. I think you would really enjoy each of the tracks - lots of great piano and orchestral moments, lots of proggy elements, some heavy riffage and PHENOMENAL solos by Timo Somers and all of that while remaining catchy and memorable. As others have already requested some of her other singles I would suggest "The Crying Room" as well. Epic and emotional power ballad with some cool prog moments (Oh btw "Under Grey Skies" by Kamelot with Charlotte might be one of my fave songs ever. Kinda cool you mentioned it)

You should add Epica - Sirens (feat. Charlotte Wessels & Myrkur) to the beanie of justice. In that video they all have different colour wigs, so less confusion xD

Hahaha, man.. that whole disclaimer section about dual parallax wigs had me in stitches. Great analysis as usual. As a drummah boi I can't shout out Joey Marin de Boer enough. He's absolutely phenomenal (and a leftie, like myself, who starts his fills with his left hand --> see live fan cam video of "The Exorcism"). Timo wasn't hand-picked by Arjen Lucassen for nothing of course and Charlotte could've done the vocal switch-ups pretty much by herself if it actually had been only her in the video 🤘 BTW: I think that both "The Exorcism" and "Chasing Sunsets" will be right up your BOJ 🎩(no beanie icon, alas)

After Delain broke up & reformed, I was following Charlotte's patreon for a while, but I gotta be honest I wasn't in love with the music she was exploring at that point. I drifted away, but now she's come back with some killer stuff and it's great to hear! I haven't listened to the whole album yet, but what I've heard has been really good. Actually what you listened to is: Delain -/- Martijn ++ Sophia ft. Simone 😁 You should really dive into Charlotte's solo work (supported by the old band members). So very good, creative and special! Afkicken (Dutch for cold turkey/rehab), Victor, Soft Revolution, Human to Ruin, the Exorcism, Superhuman are just a few titles to explore.
