I've heard that brass band in many videos now. They are absolutely killing it. The brass arrangement is 110% world class

I think they make up part of the Fearless Flyers. Play with Cory and Vulfpeck all the time.

Great fun, yes! Thanks for the great reaction as well. I LOVE the 12/8 style they employed for this, but I think the REAL enjoyment is because they are just so incredibly proficient on their instruments and in their native and acquired abilities that the tightness of their performances is almost other worldly. Thanks again!

Of all the reaction videos for Dirty Loops, yours is the most satisfying in that you glean so much that's astounded me from the credits from the very beginning (I'm a 76 y/o film composer and unabashed Loops fanatic). A couple factoids, Jonah does pretty much all of the backing vocals as well as lead. The videos from "Turbo" were filmed in 2 locations, (Cory/horns) Minneapolis and (Loops) Sweden, and expertly spliced and edited to make this! From the props to the color grading and scaling, this is a masterpiece. And you have a new subscriber!

Thank you so much David, that means a lot to me! I mean that. Film composer?! Man, I'd love to hear about that journey sometime. That is sooooo awesome!!! Thanks for the sub!!!

After that cinematic brass part at the end.. I love the way it transitioned into that sweet major led outro... what a vibe. Also, the timing in this track... the drums/bass and horns ahead of the beat... does my head in. What a worthwhile cover. Serious horn technique. What collection of tongues. :-D
@lawrenceriley15263 жыл бұрын
I listened to Cory Wong’s podcast. He talks about recording the music and video. Cory and the musicians on the left side of the video- recorded the music and did the video in the USA. Dirty Loops did their bits on the right in Sweden. They have never met in person!

That is so mind blowing. It's cool how they appear to look at each other.

Best reactions as always😀 it’s interesting to note that DL took "simple/popular” hits and loopyfied them with hope that some artists would hire them as a musicians when they saw the videos. insted DL became a ”popband”. when they write there original songs they do it in the same way, first they write a strong melody with very simple chords then DL loopyfied it witch makes it easy to appreciate. Because there is an underlying good melody at the bottom of all the magic they add✨
@StrateleStudios3 жыл бұрын
Wow! I did not know that! Thank you for sharing this information with everyone!
@theoriginalthinkman58973 жыл бұрын
To call Dirty Loops a "pop band" is to shoehorn one of the most innovative fusion groups I've experienced. I get what you're trying to say, just thought it didn't quite go far enough. Still, you nailed the genesis of the Loops' sound.
@danielstromberg72603 жыл бұрын
@@theoriginalthinkman5897 Yehh "Pop group" was not the best label, better is maby " a popular group". Most of what they put into the songs can be described as "jazzfusion" but the unique thing is that there is a strong melody in the core which makes it all easier for more people to appreciate
@theoriginalthinkman58973 жыл бұрын
@@danielstromberg7260 Once again you nailed it. There is a pop vibe to some of their music. I know they are heavily influenced by MJ, Stevie Wonder, Pat Metheny, and other Pop/R&B/Jazz artists. I think Jonah's voice makes that pretty clear. It's cool that artists I grew up with have had an impression on Dirty Loops even though the Loops body of work almost defies description other than pure genius!
@danielstromberg72603 жыл бұрын
DL is really unique and has created its own branch. Jonah's voice is magical and his classic schooling shines through in the arragemans of strings / brass / voice harmonies. Henrik is most heard in various jazz fusion projects. Aron is probably the "toto" guy who does everything so tastefully. I think his style of play is close to Dave Weckl, they form a deadly trio✨
@davidsmith69762 жыл бұрын
I like ,what you said,about Henrick,he is so good ,at knowing when to keep it straight,and then just change ,into a fill, or a change of feel,or a finger twister ,and always looks like hes having a ball [as do they all]].

First off, I love your reactions but I think this may be one of my favs. Your comments at the end were so tuned in. Gave us nice insights into the video and how you understand music. That was really nice. You mentioned a few of the upcoming artists you'll be getting to and I felt it my duty to remind you not to forget Jacob Collier. Specifically "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough." He's playing piano essentially along with himself on Yamaha's most sophisticated "player" piano ever. Witnessing how he has charted this out with a very specific foundation while leaving himself a ton of space for soloing is a marvel. When I first saw it I thought Jacob had also developed the ability to move things with his mind alone. It's very impressive and I feel somewhat over looked in Jacob's oeuvre.

ah man...thank you so much! I sometimes think I'm boring people by talking too much at the end but I'm glad to see I may not be. And I am MOST DEFINITELY not done with Jacob Collier (or Snarky Puppy or Dirty Loops). I just wanted to put a little teaser out there for any fans of the upcoming artists I'd love to cover. As always, thank you for your great comments!

Really interesting as always Jeff, and I’m also glad that you read the credits, most reactors miss that, I mean Edward Scissorhands, come on 🤣 The brass on this is amazing, don’t know much technically but someone said it’s really advanced playing with those triplets they do in total sync. Take care man!
