And this was the second encore of the night after he had already played a 2 hour concert! This is why the house lights are on…. It’s loose and everyone’s just jamming. This is from a concert performance at the forum in Inglewood CA. He played several nights and the proceeds were given to save the arena.

Thank you, my friend! I had no idea where this was only the year. What a legend! Makes sense that he came through the floor and 13 minutes later left the same way. Like I said, to jam with Prince you have to have mad endurance! His shows were legendary! I know he was also very philanthropic so I'm not surprised the proceeds went to help people. I've watched this 100x already lol I love it because imo it brings out the spirit of music within himself. Prince always wanted to make sure that the audience got their moneys worth and for everyone to just have a good time. A big reason why a lot of people didn't know his great guitar skills was because his pop music overshadowed the talent of being a multi-instrumentalist. Your thought is correct, the stage configuration is his symbol. It's brilliant because there's no bad seats. The crowd wraps around the stage and Prince was able to walk around and play music for everyone. The last time I saw him live was with this stage pattern. All those songs are covers from the 70's. My favorite musician of all time

There are a lot of great guitar players, Prince sits on the throne in MY opinion. The swag is un comparable. Playing and dancing at the same time. Most guitar players just stand in one place while soloing, Prince does it effortlessly which shows yopu how much time he dedicated to his craft. Just brilliant.

Prince and his guitars were one, they were just another extension of his body and played them with soul, passion, talent, grace and style, this made of him a unique guitar player and in most cases it is almost impossible to compare Prince with any other guitar player out there.

When I saw him live, played with his all female band 3rd Eye Girl along with a 10 piece horn section and it was just amazing to just watch him give signals to all of them and how tight everything was which does speak to his attention to detail. Only downside, heard his practice sessions were sometimes exhausting which over the years did create a rift with some of his bandmembers but the end product is what we all can enjoy forever.

As they say in the film biz: Pain is temporary, film is forever. Goes with any great art. I'm not at all familiar with 3rd Eye Girl. There's a big chunk of his history I'm not familiar with. Maybe a good rabbit hole to go down?

He could pick up any of their instruments and play it better so they had to have it together for sure. Hollywood Swinging is a Kool & the Gang tune and Fantastic Voyage was Lakeside. Love Prince! I don't recall ever hearing this either. (FYI, there's been a ton of Prince stuff posted on fb lately.) I was always jealous that my cousin got to see him live in concert. I have a concert ticket collection that I started as a child in the 70's, but I missed some of my favorites along the way. (Nirvana!!!😢) Do you & Nancy like the Pixies? They're another all-time favorite of mine. Though I prefer the original Kim Deal Era. And before the hate comments start...It's nothing personal against Luz or her abilities. I just grew up with Kim. Love the Breeders too. Late 80's through mid 90's was my favorite time. Oh to be young & wild & free... Love you both❣️ Edit: Let me clarify. I don't imagine comments from the Bemused family being hateful. There seem to be really great people here❣️ I've experienced that other places over the years, so that part was out of habit

I have noticed more Prince on KZbin lately. I read that his estate was settled last year if that has anything to do with it, I don't know. It used to be you had to be quick when something was posted cause it would quickly be taken down. Never got to see him live. I did get to go to the iconic First Avenue club once! I know how you feel about missing concerts. My all-time favorite band is Judas Priest since I was 13 years old and NEVER got to see them. I know of the Pixies and the Breeders but I know nothing of their work. Perhaps new rabbit holes to explore? I was saying to Nancy last night when we were watching BP react to a Journey song (I never saw them live but Nancy has) how amazing it is for some of these reactors to not be familiar with such legendary acts or their music! But I guess that's me too with bands like The Pixies, The Breeders, Rammstein, and I'm sure a million others. Glad you enjoyed this Velouria! Loves and hugs from us both!❤️❤️
