Prince was so amazing that to most of the people watching do not notice that many of his moves, head bobs, gittar jabs, even that look in his eyes that you exclaimed at are all directing the members of the band. Prince is the epitome of an orcestral director without anyone even noticing. Take a stroll through the many live videos and watch him closely!!!

My parents were at this show & this was Prince's like 7th encore. That's why the show almost looks like a rehearsal & this was a 7th ecnore after already performing for 3 hours. Than after the concerts, Prince would make a surprise pop up at a night club & continue to perform his rare songs til 6am. You can't say Prince wasn't the physcial embodiement of music!

Hey, Sebs! I love your Prince reactions. I was only 22 when Prince passed, but I got 38 shows in and they were all phenomenal. The small shows were definitely the greatest, and he always gave 700% on the stage no matter what size the audience was. The smallest show I attended had like 10-15 people in the audience (and he had us get on stage and sing backing vocals into his mic to a basically empty room). I'm gonna try to answer some of the questions you had and give you a few multi-instrument performance recommendations as well. The Twinz are wearing wheels on their shoes, so they can skate around the stage. Kinda like Heelys but without the wheels obstructing the sole of the shoe, so they can still dance in them. The song is called Hollywood Swinging, but this show was at the Inglewood Forum. That's why he had them singing Inglewood Swinging instead. He's actually not playing a telecaster - it's a Hohner Mad Cat. He bought a used one in 1980, and it remained one of his favorite guitars throughout his career. Okay, here are some performance recommendation with some brief notes about them: 2005 NAACP performance - He plays rhythm guitar, keyboards, bass, and lead guitar in this one. The longer version with the award introduction also talks about him as an advocate for artists' rights. One of the best award show performances you will ever see. Rave Un2 the Year 2000 concert film - specifically the part where they do Gett Off (Housestyle) into Talkin' Loud and Sayin' Nothing, he has a keyboard solo and a drum/quads solo. He also does the most ridiculous version of the splits that I've ever seen in my life - at 41-years-old, nonetheless. There are some really amazing guitar performances during this concert film as well - one that stands out in my mind at this moment is his performance of Purple House (cover of Jimi's Red House). I know the audio for that one is on youtube by itself, but there is video for it in the full concert film on youtube (or you can probably find it on facebook). It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night from the Sign O' the Times concert film - This performance is super high energy, really fun dancing, and he gets back on drums while Sheila E raps. America live performance from 1985 - Another high octane performance, he has a brief guitar solo and gets back on the drums on this one as well. Partyman live at the Tokyo Dome 1990 - Mostly dancing in this one, but he has a killer piano solo. And to start the solo, he runs across the stage, slides on his belly across the top of the piano, and starts playing his solo upside down. 1999/Baby I'm a Star/Push from the Glam Slam 1992 concert film - This one is super fun as well. High energy and great rhythm guitar work. This show was at a club he owned in Downtown Minneapolis (extra shout out to Black ownership!), and he dances on the bar during this part of the performance. I feel like that's probably a good starting point. Lol. There are so many amazing performances from throughout his entire career, so it can be quite a task to narrow it down.

So something that out of all the accolades that Prince gets as a musician/song writer as a person he was humble and loved his fans. He disliked the industries way of making money not only off of the artists but he felt the fans got over charged as well. He had many concerts at Paisley Park where he had full control of ticket prices as it was his venue in the 90's and early 2000's that he only charged $5.00 a ticket because he felt fans should not have to pay what he thought was outrages ticket prices back then. He also had a show at the Minneapolis venue were he started that he charged such a low price he had to pay the venue for letting him preform. He also gave a lot of his money to youth centers all around Minneapolis as it being his home town. Just a little look at the personal side of Prince that seemed to get over shadowed by his bigger then life persona and flamboyancy.

Prince was funk more than anything. Been a fan since I was 12 years old. And I’m a Minnesota girl and my uncle knew him. He was a bouncer in a downtown Minneapolis bar.. Prince was all about Minneapolis. Made me feel like I knew him. Have a great story of when my uncle moved out of Minneapolis to a very small town and he drove all the way out there in his purple limo back in the’80s. I wasn’t there, had to hear about it the next day. Prince always did crazy stuff.

Truthfully, @@talonlan this isn't an incorrect statement. I love Prince and his talent is unmatched. But the instrument count is basically anything stringed, anything keyed, anything drummed. He didn't play brass or woodwind. It's variations on guitar, piano and drums. Which is entirely enough! He's a maestro on all at various eras of his career. So that's more than anyone else can boast.

His engineer has a story of how they hired a harpist for a piece and P didn't like what she played. He told her to leave the harp and she would be paid for her time. Sat at the harp, strummed in a couple of times to hear the notes, and proceeded to play it himself.

The 2020 deluxe reissue includes 10 vinyl records with rare, unreleased gems - including him performing live in Utrecht, Netherlands in 2010. FYI - This album was nominated for the Grammy's Album of the Year but he lost to Michael Jackson's Bad. I love both Prince and Michael, but Prince was definitely snubbed that year. So, it's not just Beyonce that has gotten snubbed. As I said, I so enjoy your reaction videos. Will make it a point to watch more regularly. Peace brother.

If you're talking about what the twins are wearing on their shoes, they're wheels. I've got the full Blu-Ray of this gig and there are moments where they are just skating around the stage on their heels

You need to react to Prince Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tribute to George Harris. Prince was also inducted that year, but the solo he did during the tribute stole the show. It was a "revenge" solo for not being on Rolling Stones' Top Hundred Guitarist. The Song was While My Guitar Gently Weeps, but Princes's guitar isn't gently weeping it is wailing to the four corners in the best "Prince" way. Walks in halfway through the songs, plays, falls into the crowd, finishes, throws his guitar and struts off stage.

You went down a serious rabbit hole with Prince and you will be in this forever. I saw several of his concerts and he developed strong connections with Memphis and Nashville due to their music scenes at the time. He was not always a Jehova's Witness, he developed that connection after a meeting he had with a guy from Nashville who encouraged him to develop spiritually which moved his music in another direction again. The guy he met was Larry Graham, and his music became more amazing. He also released more albums fusing multiple music genres blurring the lines even more. He had strong connections to Memphis and Nashville due to their rock, blues, soul and country music scenes.

The way he directed the whole band on stage live. There will not be another like him. He was something else. You should check out the Rock and Roll hall of fame induction where he come on and owned it. While my guitar gently weeps. Hollywood Swinging.. First thing I thought of was GTA lol!

You can flex when you got it like that! This was only a part of an encore at the Forum in (Inglewood) L.A. for the Welcome 2 America tour. I used to go to the 2001 nightclub on Pittsburgh's northside.

The Twins, as they were called, were Princes back up dancers. The shoes they had on were called Roller shoes. They were shoes that had wheels showing slightly through the heels. The twins would dance and then roll around on stage during the concerts.

Sebs, you have to do a Michael Jackson reaction video. I recommend Smooth Criminal, Dirty Diana, Man In The Mirror Grammy Performance, Man In The Mirror Moonwalker performance, Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough, PYT, Wanna Be Start’n Something, Billie Jean, Motown 25 performance, Say Say Say, Thriller, and Come Together to name a few. Michael is better than Prince.
