Road Of Resistance Live In Japan 🇯🇵:- Su-Metal was 10 when she performed with Karen Girls at the SSA (SAITAMA SUPER ARENA). Been a fan of "Babymetal" since 2011. The Arena that night holds about 20000 Babymetal fans but when you see the centrepiece Island and the two curve bridge, it can hold up to 30000 or even up to 40000 depends on the configuration of Babymetal concert for each tour they performed. This song is co-written by Dragonforce with Herman Li and Sam Totman plays the guitar 🎸 solos, but Kami Band live show is brutal and tight. This is a classic Power Metal genre or speed metal as some might refer to. Bands like Dragonforce, Helloween and even Sabaton do power metal genre. Arkadia from Metal Galaxy Album is the successor to Road Of Resistance. At 17 Su-Metal alongside Yuimetal and Moametal who is 15 at that time, gave a perfect 👌 performance on how live show should be. This performance alone cemented my love ❤️ and appreciation for Babymetal. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘😍💕🌸🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult. .

Su’s voice is exactly why Koba (Babymetals producer) picked her in the first place for his “little” project that became Babymetal. Not many singers have that specific vocal range to get nor drowned in the massive metal music. That’s why Su is our queen :) ❤🤘🔥🦊

Great reaction. They have always been very much protected by their producer Kobametal and their agency Amuse - and rightly so. They don't do meet & greets, they don't have any social media (not public at least) and their private lives are very private - they only ever do public appearances, interviews or whatever in character and in costume ... nothing at all like any western artists where they are seen as fair game for any photographer or newspaper looking for scandals or just trying to mess people up. This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su was 17, Yui and Moa only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, i think it was, 21 mosh pits). This was also the end of a 90 minute concert and yes, they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world. This was the official video, they actually cut that outro short by at least a couple of minutes (with drummer Hideki Aoyama and the Kami Band going at it non-stop) while the girls went to each different side of the stage to shout "We are ... BABYMETAL" with as many of the audience as they could get near to. As well as that long central bridge out to the small stage there were two more bridges at either end of the stage leading to a couple more small stages that they used at various points in the show. About the song itself. 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Herman Li and Sam Totman from the British power/speed metal band DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version.

Yea they were always treated with a lot of respect. They never sexualized them in and way. The outfits in this video were the most reviling customs. It is true that they like don't exists outside their shows. Yui hasn't been seen or heard from since she left nearly 6 years ago. Su and Moa have stated they still keep in contact with her since they are like family.

Nice reaction. Babymetal fans are called The One. As in One with the Band. Which is why they say "We Are" and the response is "Babymetal". They actively want the audience to feel part of the show. Babymetal feels like without their fans they wouldn't be where they are. When Babymetal started one of the things they wanted to do was introduce Metal to folks who otherwise wouldn't listen to it. Mission accomplished. Here you are listening to them. We all hope Yui is doing well. Su and Moa say they keep in touch with her, and she is doing fine. Koba come up with the idea of Babymetal. After seeing Su singing with another Jpop group called Karen girls. He found his lead singer and built everything around her. Lucky for us he was able to get Yui and Moa as well. An amazing trio. Your friends are lucky to have gotten to see them. They performed for the first time since lockdowns began in Japan from covid on January 28th and 29th. With a hint at the end of the show that they might be adding new 3rd member on April 1st. Yes, April fool's day. Which happens to be Fox Day in Japan. Very similar thing. However, Babymetal often uses this day to announce things. Like new albums and such. This time we might get something really big. The dancer who has filled in Yui's spot for over the 25 shows and counting. Momoko may just be in line for that spot. I hope she is. Momoko has worked hard with them and is doing a great job. Su, Yui and Moa all belonged to a Jpop group called Sakura Gakuin. Momoko was also a member of this group. So, for me she fits right in with them. Until next time Kitsunes UP 🤘🦊. See You

Great reaction, Su-metal has become my favourite singer because of her crowd control, fearlessness and adaptability, she is a powerhouse for someone so small. And is constantly evolving and pushing herself with every album, It's incredible to watch her growth as a vocalist. I think, if the metal is a bit too much for you, they have quite a few songs on the pop side of things, you might enjoy more from their metal galaxy album. Recommendations Brand New Day, Night Night Burn!, Shanti Shanti Shanti. Though my recommendation would be Babymetal - THE ONE there is a compilation video on KuroKiitsuneSama channel which is excellent and shouldn't have any problems with copyright. Thanks for sharing and hope to see you soon

Kobametal saw Su perform at a young age, and conceived the concept of Babymetal. It was put together as a vehicle for Su, her powerful vocals and unique stage presence. The spirit of the girls really drives the band - Boh, the bassist, once blogged this is the first band he's played in where they asked him to play louder. Su btw calls out the mix she wants for the concert. I do think if I were to criticize, that her vocals are too far back in the mix, they should be brought forward. The Road of Resistance is about the girls fight for equality in a male dominated metal world. But it is general enough to be your resistance, to follow your path regardless of others. A recurring theme in their music

Great reaction. They have so many songs ranging over the past decade. Many to recommend. This song Road of Resistance they close out concerts with a lot. So I will recommend another one they have closed out shows with and its also a live version. It is called "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" live at Sonisphere 2014. It is a great song about anti bullying. The Kami band is wonderful in it and amazing solo section. Su vocals on it of course are just astonishing and Yui an Moa are great singing along and dancing. It was also there first big performance out side of Japan. It was in the UK in front of 50k metal fans and they ended up being the talk of the festival. It is like their big breakout into the metal world outside Japan. An historic show for them.

They played Road of Resistance as the closing song in many of their shows, and at least in two occasions she dropped a 13 seconds long final "resistance" at full power, it was so impressive 👏 She's the perfect tone for these songs. BTW She's incredibly easy going in their interviews and the few BTS footage available. MOA is also a remarkable singer and a really relentless dancer, she's a powerhouse. 🤘🦊⚡️

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。This anthemic song was played in the latest shows on Jan.28/29 this year, and I ran in the circle pit for the first time in my life. 😄 The crowd involvement (mosh pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. American people also did good job in any of 20 shows during BM's 2019 US Tour. For example, you will find videos showing 17,500 audiences doing the same chanting (even much longer one) at the Forum, CA on Oct. 11, 2019. In your video, Su shouted some words at 10:40 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She shouted it rarely since then. In the latest shows, happy smile by Su and Moa made the audience rejoice. The girls have grown up into beautiful ladies now. The maturity has added more attractiveness to this band. Please react to the latest music video of "Metal Kingdom". You will understand the reason why BABYMETAL always say "the latest is the Best".

Excellent reaction, thanks This footage is from the concert "New Year Fox Festival", held on January 10th, 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena (SSA) with a sold out crowd of 20.000+ people. It was the last encore of the concert. 90+ minutes entirely performed with this level of energy. It's just epic. For this music video, they decided to keep the actual live audio (so glad they did!), just cutting out the majority of the "We are?? BABYMETAL" extensive outro. About the song itself, Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce collaborated with BABYMETAL, writing the guitar arrangements and also playing on the studio version. They arranged it faster and crazier than their own songs hoping they would never have to play it live. They were wrong! haha... Since DragonForce performed "RoR" with BABYMETAL during Metal Hammer's Golden Gods Awards in 2015. Yes, the Kami Band is a very important piece of their live shows. They incorporated the live band permanently right before they went into their first world tour back in 2014 after being progressively introduced in live concerts since 2012. It's formed by session musicians, the best you can find. This is why they sound so crazy good. SU-METAL still remembers this performance and specially the part they walked across the bridge with the crowd singing along as one of her favorite moments on stage. She also made this song her personal anthem. And you can tell just watching her non verbal expression specially on the second half of the song. And also verbal as she shouts at certain moment: "Kakatte koiya!" (Bring it on!). Well, the fact that you care about the girls is very significative... and familiar... welcome to The ONE! 😁 Until next time! 🤘🦊

For your next reaction, I would recommend jumping to this decade to see them as they are now. They recently released a new video from a concert that occurred last weekend. Metal Kingdom (Official). You will be amazed at the growth in Su's vocals between then and now. At the time of this video, the girls parents were frequently seen at concerts so it appears they were usually present. The Kami band members consider themselves somewhat big brothers to the girls. They have expressed extreme pride at watching them grow and become what they became. We really don't know details of the internal dynamics because they are uber secretive in all that they do.

👍 👍 If you continue to explore BabyMetal I believe that your opinion about the band being the real draw. You will I believe come to understand that no matter how great they are (and they are) this would not exist without Suzuka Nakamoto, backup singers Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (her friends and classmates from Sakura Gakuin). It was the perfect one in a million combination. The Kami Band members have said many times how much they admire and respect the girls for their talent, hard work, dedication and humble character. They also explain that they are grateful to BabyMetal because they have had a once in a lifetime experience traveling Asia and the world as part a world class group.

I like this part a lot -> it's the perfect one in a million combination. Babymetal as a project will never be replicated. To many of us who followed them as the original SG idol girls, we were extreme privileged to have experience this "experiment" from the onset. Haters criticize that this is a manufactured group.. totally missing or overlooking the part that only once out of a million manufacture attempts can even succeed, let alone be a global phenomenon. Let's enjoy it while they last, we won't ever see anything like this again.

Thanks for this reaction. You did great, you touched on a bunch of things a lot of people only understand after listening some more, probably because you've know more about being involved in music. The live band is very much appreciated by the fans, not to worry to much about that. Su-metal really is able to perform with that 'stable voice' and clear voice, but also, as you mentioned, a sense of power. And that was her just turned 17. She has only gained in vocal powers. Her voice as you said sits on top of the metal music and carriers very far. It's part of what makes Babymetal such a success story.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏴 🏴 🏴 "Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) - Pretty much a master class in audience control. This performance was at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) in January of 2015, with a sold out crowd of over 20,000. BABYMETAL's lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto first appeared at SSA in 2008 as the youngest of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old. Su has been back many times since, headlining with BABYMETAL. It was while she was still with Karen Girl's that BABYMETAL's producer Koba became aware of this young talent with a "no holds back singing voice". His crazy idea was to build a metal group around her. When he put the band together, he told them 'Don't hold back because they are "Idols". Don't hold back because they are girls.' Guitarists that night were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. The bassist was BOH, and the drummer was Hideki Aoyama. Hideki's father and brother were also drummers, so it's kind of in his blood.

Their fans are "The One"!! At this point they are in their mid-teens, high school students. FYI, Moa was a straight A student. As to the touring they were protected by staff and by the band members. But Japanese "kids" are more mature than ours. Did you notice that all of Su's calls to the Japanese audience were in English? At this point they have been performing for 80 minutes, can you tell? Next - "Karate" live at The Download Festival. You will see how they control a non-Baby metal audience. Don't know how many Japanese rock/metal bands you have reacted to, but there are a number of all-females that are better musicians than the Kami band.

Great reaction, although kinda wished the guy you had with last Babymetal song was there too. I got a kick of his facial expressions while listening lol Anyhow, I didn't read all the comments, but I didn't see anybody say the stuff I'll say. If they did, sorry for the redundancy. As xDeleilax pointed out, Koba picked Su for Babymetal. The whole project was LITERALLY created around her. She quite literally is the center of attention, or the focal point of this band. You mentioned about her singing style, crystal clear, yet powerful. She was training to become a jpop singer. Koba heard her singing and felt her voice was too powerful to be "wasted" on JPop. So he brought her into his project. Thus Babymetal was born. You asked about the fanbase. Babymetal calls us The One. When Babymetal went international they were so touched by the amount of non Japanese people learning Japanese just so they could sing along that they wanted to show their appreciation to the fanbase. So they created their love song to the fanbase which they named, The One. They learned how to sing it in English, just for the fans too so we could understand the lyrics. Also, when Babymetal tours in different countries, Su-Metal tries to learn how to say a few sentances in the language of the country they visit so she can talk to the fans of that country and give the fans the respect she feels they deserve by speaking in their tongue. There is a videoclip on youtube of her saying stuff to the crowd in the concerts she's performed at in Poland, France, Germany, Russia, and other countries. These things are part of the reason why we love her so much. Much of the fanbase don't just love these girls, we tend to look at them as our little sisters and we all have become quite protective of these girls as a result lol. You also have some HUGE bands that fall into the Babymetal fanbase. Metallica, Rob Zombie, Slipknot, KoRn, Red Hot Chili Peppers just to name a few. They have been heard defending these girls many times as metal elitists try to slam these girls. I'm glad you discovered them, if you can, I'd also recommend at some point looking up the lyrics. You'll find most of their songs have a positive message as well. Another reason why these girls have such a loyal and huge following is just because they make you smile and happy. You tend to forget all the pain and issues you're experiencing during the time you're listening to them. I've literally read accounts of people saying they were super depressed and thinking about deleting themselves and were planning it when they discovered Babymetal and that Babymetal saved their life. I think it is super cool to see stories like that, and I sincerely hope Babymetal has seen those stories too. They deserve all the credit they get. Lastly, even though Yui left (the dancer with the chubby cheeks) for medical reasons, Babymetal has never forgotten or tried to replace her. They've always alluded to Yui still being part of the band and showing her respect. For instance, on their last concert before they went on Hiatus for almost 2 years (thank GOD they're FINALLY back!!!), they did a little cartoon skit at their concert showing 3 comets flying off in the galaxy. The third comet is thought to be Yui's comet. In their most recent concert they have 3 thrones, so it is assumed the third is again for Yui. They have lots of little easter eggs like that to show that Yui is still in their hearts and she can never be replaced. Anyhow, great reaction, really enjoyed that. It gave me the energy boost I needed for today!

I'm kind of amazed about the interaction myself. I talked to the sound technician at their concert on Tuesday, and everything is planned. There are time-codes and click-tracks used throughout the concert. But the concert was AMAZING and you really felt them connecting to the audience. And even in Norway the crowd was mental. This band is a phenomenon I'm happy I've been able to watch live.

May I recommend Catch Me If You Can, Rondo of Nightmares (Mischief of Gods intro) or Yava (Fox Festival live) for future reactions. Fantastic songs and with intro solos by the Kami band to showcase their immense talents and give the girls a break. For Su as a soloist, Rondo, Akatsuki or Amore are my preferred ones, so good. Loved the reaction, here's a few fun things. You touched on the ferocity of the pit. In the intro when Su holds her hands together, slowly parts them, then brings them together at the start of the fast part she's telling the crowd to create "the wall of death" (it's been banned in many locations). If you watch this closely you can see how crazy it is lol. Also, Babymetal is basically a "boy band". None of the singers even heard metal but were put together in a producer's office. I love them those are just fun things about things you talked about...

If anyone ever gets a chance to experience this in person....DO IT! I saw them at Rock on the Range in 2015. They were on a small side stage and I'll never forget when on cue, the crowd parted and formed a wall of death. Two nearby non-fans verbally WTF'd and again on cue, about 90% of the crowd just surged at each other, forming hands down the biggest mosh pit of the 3 day festival. The two local guys looked at each other and said "whoda thunk the best mosh pits would be at effing Baby Metal?!?" As a fan, I chuckled silently. In 2018 they returned to that festival....on the main stage.

I always love when reactors react to Road Of Resistance.... there's always that "Is that little girl really calling for a wall of death" in the beginning.... And then you see the "oh shit" look when they realize that a 5'2" Asian girl called for, and got a big ass wall of death/mosh pit, is hilarious. Love the sing a long part with the fans... I think they added that part in just to give the drummer a break before his legs fall off. 🤣🤣🤣🤘🦊🤘

I agree with your choice of word there - the Kami band are ANOMALIES. They are insanely talented and professional. Marty Friedman (original Megadeth guitarist) actually took Takayoshi Ohmura (Babymetal/Kami guitarist) with him to tour with some of the cream of the crop shred musicians, and bro stood his ground, and many moments shined the brightest with his insane guitar playing. He's up there.

3:08 _Now Pizza Time! (Pizza Time!)_ 🦊🤘🍕 But you cut the flow of the misheard lyrics 😝 Thanks for hearing our suggestions and coming back with more BM songs, it's been a while, fans always appreciate when reactors are taking a risk when reacting to certain BM songs heavily blocked. The One (BM fandom) is excited once again with the new "METAL KINGDOM" official MV released last week from upcoming album "The Other One", a couple of live performances were held in January 28 - 29 returning to the stage after almost two years, we got more news and announcements along with more live shows in April 1 (Fox Day) later they will join Sabaton's Europe Tour as a special guests. So far no one is having any copyright blocked issues reacting to the new singles so don't worry about it, but my suggestion is to stick with early BM songs before jumping to this new era with more mature sound. _Road Of Resistance_ is a power/speed metal song, is one of their most epic anthem and got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce, and is all about facing your own path without looking back. The wall of death is nuts just like you noticed, is also called "mosh'sh pit", different from usual mosh pit because this one is safe to participate if you fall everyone will stop until you get up and get ready to keep going with the fun ride, but you gotta be careful not losing your shoes, towels, tickets or even your smartphone like recently in those concerts.😱 This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015 series of concerts, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena, is the last song of the encore they performed and finishing the show. By this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians who were send to help the girls with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (specially the guitarrists), all of them are males. BM fans love some members of this band but none of them are official members of this group not even permanent, they only play live, so when you heard album tracks remember they aren't playing there. These are pretty much the same members you saw at Headbanger!! with your friend iirc, except for one guitarist, in this case they are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording certain songs. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar or golden in other moments. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japanese music scene. At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to making them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed to X-Japan saying it at live concerts too. If you like this type of metal genre then you're gonna love another previous song from first album called *"Ijime Dame Zettai"* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and witness a precious and epic moment on their career. You can find that clip in the official channel but just be careful coz sometimes is getting blocked issues. Thanks for sharing this, hopefully this won't be blocked.🙏 See you next time and kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥

Great reaction again. The concept of the "cute" voices over the metal music was pretty much invented by Babymeta (actually their producer Koba-metal). It took a while, but they were determined to make this work and at first they faced some, actually a lot, of push back from the metal gatekeepers, but they overcame that because of the insane musicianship, excellent writing and the three girls fronting the band and trying their hardest to do their best. This has opened opportunities for other female fronted/all female metal bands and bands in general (in Japan, there are more all female rock and metal bands than anywhere else in the world) . This can be a real rabbit hole if you're interested in exploring a whole new world of music from Japan. For example, the best touring hard rock band in the world is Band-Maid, a group of five insanely talented female musicians or for metal, Lovebites, another insane group of five females with probably two of the best guitarist in the world. If interested, just try one their videos (any one will work) and if you like and want more, their fans will provide more recommends.
