He doesn't lose his Scottish accent, he just tones it down when he's singing & yes Scottish accents vary across Scotland as do Welsh & English accents vary depending on the region in each country.

He's said he can play the piano a bit (he wrote Someone You Loved at the piano and says that's why the piano part is more simple) but he has someone else that plays it for all of his recordings/concerts. He does however play the guitar for a lot of his songs. And the emotion in his voice is really what drew me to his music, definitely one of my favorite singers at this point. He's gonna be in some concerts in the US in the next few months so really looking forward to seeing him live. Some songs of his with more instrumental to check out though would be Tough, Hollywood, and Mercy. Tough I personally really like how it starts out with just his voice and one cord from one instrument, then they slowly get added in as his voice and the song picks up, a full band by the the time the chorus hits and his voice still cuts through it really well. Also I really enjoyed your review!

Great reaction! I only came across your channel today on the back of a TØP reaction and subbed. I live near Lewis and his parents and have met him a few times through mutual friends over the years, I’m closer to his parents age though rather than his and I don’t know him well at all. He is very humble, unassuming and hilariously funny! I think people sometimes assume he‘s been an ‘overnight sensation’ as they hadn’t heard of him before and now he’s literally everywhere! But that’s not the case, he was doing the pubs and clubs circuit for years before he had any major label interest. And yes, he plays piano and guitar but He doesn’t think he’s very good on piano - although he does use it to write some of his songs on. His talent and work ethic have quite rightly got him to where he is today and it’s great to watch!

J'adore 😍 his songs are exceptional! On the other hand I see everyone in the comments which say " he completely loses his Scottish accent when he sings" but I'm frensh and I just understood that not everyone has the same accent in the UK😭😂

This song reminds me of my worst breakup. My family and friends wanted me to get past it, but I only wanted to feel the pain for all its worth. With each day that passed, the air I breathed felt colder. With every tear I shed, I became more exhausted. There was a sense of bravery in allowing my heart to agonize over its loss even though I knew very well my heart meant nothing to one of us anymore. In the midst of my pain, I felt privileged to have experienced such a love because I know not everyone gets to. Even if that love no longer exists ...I do...and I’ve moved on...bruises and all. Lewis just released a remix of this song with a full orchestra. He performs with a full band, but I have seen him on some TV shows with just the piano player (a cute red-headed guy!). Lewis plays the guitar, but I think he just plays the piano to write but not to perform. I love him! Check out his Instagram because he is funny as hell!

When I saw him live he used a band-drum and guitar with keyboard with some of the songs. Sounded great. Added a layer live. He plays guitar too. And his voice held up through the whike set so he must be doing sinething right. Also hes hilarious

I've seen a few vocal coaches react. They obviously can't know for sure without actually working with him, but have noticed a few habits that could cause problems for him. One said the way he's getting that sound is fine when you're not doing it all the time, but with how much he's going to be singing with recordings and shows and practice that they definitely worry it's going to cause too much strain and be an issue. I hope they're wrong or that he's working on developing his skills to ease the strain.
