ego crush, by the way, I interpret as crushing someone's ego, that is, seriously lowering their self confidence Olivia likes to switch around tenses in popular phrases like that- she did it in her song good 4 u as well in the bridge: maybe I'm too emotional//but your apathy's like a wound in salt-Salt in a wound is the phrase she means

She wasn’t born in the 90s but she said as a child her parents would take her to concerts like the weezers! So I can see how she is inspired by that era.
@youredelicious99453 жыл бұрын
Not the weezers lmfao their name is Weezer and that was her first concert thats why she likes alternative rock so much also her.producer and cowriter Dan denigro is the guitarrist of an indie rock band called taller as lions

How is “a musician” critiquing this and not pointing out it’s the same riff as Costello’s “Pump it Up”? Im not knocking it- it’s catchy as hell and he doesn’t have a problem with it so why should we- but it’s the first thing I noticed. Also, you can tell she was probably exposed to some Bikini Kill growing up. Folks saying this doesn’t have a 90s vibe weren’t listening to the underground stuff back then
