If you want more songs try Black Swan, or On Kinetic Manifesto. You might also want to get into their solo music but before doing so please react to Boracity Magazine’s Guide to BTS for haters and skeptics. I know you are not a hater but it gives a super brief overview of what the band and Kpop in general are about. Here is the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHyskHmfnpeCbbcsi=zBrCEtIWM6PDLqZj

I'd love to see your reaction to their live performance. They are amazing in their live performances...For example Mic Drop again - at their concert in Busan.

@ashleyder916410 күн бұрын
@YesterdaysYouthTV Complicated answer...I could write a treatise on why they've gotten so much hate. But if I had to reeeaaaally sum it up -- In SK they got hate for coming from a small, no-name label and having the audacity to do better (on charts, etc) than groups from major labels. BTS grew from a bluegrass fan push, not through common industry push. People hated that. Internationally - a mix of xenophobia, misogyny, and a widespread disdain for "boybands" and "things that are popular must be overhyped, so because I'm cool and different, I will hate on it."
@shockofthenew9 күн бұрын
@@ashleyder9164 Yeah the amount of hate they received over the years is truly insane, the lyrics of this song are coming from a real place... I think a lot of it comes from being that rare story of underdogs who weren't supposed to succeed but ended up beating the competition, thereby disrupting the plans of powerful people (major labels in Korea, gatekeeping industry in the West etc). They also got a lot of hate early on because some members came from the underground hip hop scene, and were accused of 'selling out' by going pop. There are also just so many layers of racism, xenophobia, misogyny, ageism and even homophobia that rise up when people see the image of a 'k-pop boyband' whose fans are 'teenage girls'. Even if that image isn't exactly accurate.

This song sounds totally different from Dynamite because BTS has songs in ALL the genres….maybe not country, but pretty much everything else. Every single one of the 7 BTS members also have solo albums each in their own style that they prefer. For the past 2 years they have been serving their mandatory military service for South Korea but before they enlisted they pre-recorded a bunch of solo songs so that new music from BTS members has dropped about once a month since they have been gone. 2 members have already been discharged from their military duties and the rest are set to return in June of this year. So hopefully we’ll have new BTS group music by the end of 2025.

This song goes so hard live too with the crowd chanting along!! More bangers are Run BTS (not to be confused with their other song, Run), Fire, UGH (rap line song), Dionysus, and Not Today! Solo ones that are more aggressive are More by J-Hope, Daewhita by Agust D (SUGA's solo artist name), and Set Me Free Pt2 by Jimin. Also I think it's Permission to Dance that was in Despicable Me, not Dynamite.They have 3 full-English songs they released during the pandemic to spread joy and love: Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance!

Glad you enjoyed it! Believe it or not Mic Drop is still more on the 'pop' end of BTS, though it obviously has more rap and a harder sound. I recommend reacting to 'A Guide To BTS (for haters, skeptics and non-pop fans)' from Boracity. Obviously you're not a hater!! But it'll give you a quick glimpse into what we mean when we say BTS have a crazy amount of range. For more of the (many) sides of the group, try the music videos for: Black Swan On Kinetic Manifesto Blood Sweat & Tears Spring Day Fake Love Idol Since you wanted to see grittiness you could also try their more 'hip hop' songs like UGH, Tear, or their cyphers. The live performances go hard as well. Also the rappers' solo work (oh boy does this get gritty!!). Or you could go back to their roots and try 'Hip Hop Lover' and 'Born Singer' which tell some of their story.

Diss track at all those haters who were snapping at BTS heels because they came from a tiny going bankrupt company who found real Rappers who wrote their own lyric's and one of which was already a producer, and members who were and still are musicians and either could already compose or learnt along the way to compose, write and produce. They'd went on to win all the awards year on year on year and are not just the biggest group within the Kpop Industry but the biggest Global Group/Band. One member Rapper Suga (aka Agust D) is an award winning Producer for other artists at other companies.
