Another enjoyable reaction. The reason for the lack of captions is that this version does not have any lyrics it is known as a "vocalise." The 2019 St. Petersburg vocalise and the actual full version with lyrics are equally impressive. Vocalise, pronounced voh-kuh-leez is French [from vocaliser, to vocalize, from vocal, vocal, from Old French]. Vocalise is a common musical form used in classical music to challenge singers to exercise their vocal capabilities and dates back to the mid-18th century. It gave rise to related music traditions in the 19th century and would later lead to the development of a vocal style used in jazz, known as scat singing. The words Dimash spoke in a growl or vocal fry at the very beginning and the end were "Ascolta la voce", which means "listen to the voice" in Italian. He is asking us to just listen and feel the music without the distraction of lyrics or meaning. By the way, just before the end of the song, the camera showed his mom in the audience (front row). She is a famous Kazakh operatic soprano.

There are no words.... Seriously, there are no words! 😅 It's all ad-lib vocalizations. It's mesmerizing, isn't it? It's in my top 3 or 4. To me, it's euphoric, hypnotic, almost spiritual. Know from Kiev. He also does this song with lyrics, Dimash, Know from New Wave. It is another genius move by Dimash. The song was composed by Igor Krutoy and Dimash has performed it both with and without lyrics and he does it differently each time. Dimash Know from New York was another in which he used only his voice, no lyrics, whispers, different tone etc. It was totally mesmerizing. Like putting a spell on the entire crowd.

Note: Dimash does not do talent shows anymore, and certainly Never on America’s Got Talent where you sign your life away. He does solo international concerts, guest spots, judging gigs, acting/directing for videos, etc. all while working on his PhD, marketing for DQ merchandise, humanitarian efforts, extensive exercise program, and spending time with his family and friends. He has his own production company, Dimashali, and sound stage.

First of all he was never on America's got talent. Secondly it's not a competition it is from his Arnau concert tour. It even says that in your own title of the video. It's so funny you coming to you didn't know what he was saying. He wasn't saying anything lyrically. Vocalize is a vocalization, what that means is a song without lyrics only vocals. To be clear, this is a vocalization of a song that he has performed called "Know" which he performs with the lyrics.
