Elvis loved his fans and appreciated them for all they done for him, he came from a humble back ground and was taught respect especially in the way he talked always thanked people and called them Mam and Sir , what a beautiful song really enjoyed listening and great video .

I met and got to know the Everly Brothers, who first recorded this song, and they do it beautifully, very sweetly. Elvis, though, takes it to another, more intense and passionate level. By the way, the first line as written and sung by everyone else who covers the song is "I bless the day I found you," Elvis changed it to "God bless the day I found you." This is such a fabulous song by Elvis.

How could anyone not like Elvis singing this!There's a reason that he has remained the most beloved & best entertainer of all time and in my opinion & he will always be the best. Some people might not know how hard he worked to make it to the top, but he paid his dues and worked so very hard to get there. 😊 Long live the memory of the King of music. I believe he's the only one that is in 5 Hall of Fames and that's not easy to do. The "Blue Orleans" I asked you to do John was done in 1956. The pre war Elvis, but what a tremendous job he did with it in his starting years. Elvis had the Blues singing down at such an early age. God bless and take care. !!!

We had 36° C today and that's absolutly enough for a north european old lady! 😅 I hope Lynn is ok, and it's nothing serious! The 14 days quarantine is an absolutly must these days. The numbers of new infections here in Germany are rising again! It's an up and down. A few people are thinking everything is ok and they forget all caution! Of course i'll send you some new photos. But i have to see before, which picture you already know and which not! Say 'Hy' to Peanut, too and of course to Lynn. I hope he gets better soon! And a lot of hugs and love to you! The lady in the last picture was on UTube and is 82 and she said she and her husband were sitting in the back and Elvis went in the back and kissed her and she's still thrilled to think about it. She said his lips were like soft pillows❤❤

Great choice John - Let It Be has always been a song that I've had a soft spot for. Good luck with the new EP my friend. Elvis'second Vegas engagement which began on 26 January 1970 included TEN new additions to the setlist which was a mixture of oldies, contemporary covers and recently recorded and released singles. One of the covers that Elvis chose, and the FIFTH new song of opening night,was the Everly Brothers 1960 hit 'Let It Be Me'. Originally written by French duo Pierre Delanoë (lyrics) and Gilbert Bécaud (music) and titled 'Je t'appartiens' it was given English lyrics by Mann Curtis and called 'Let It Be Me'. In the ten years between the Everly Brothers hit and Elvis including it in his live stage show, it was covered by many different acts and performers Nancy Sinatra, Bobby Gentry and Tom Jones amongst them. It is perhaps the version recorded by The Sweet Inspirations in 1967 which resonated most with Elvis as they had incorporated a gospel feel into their version and this is certainly evident in the Elvis version.

New singer on the rise. Still very young. Angelina Jordan. Started at 7. She’s now 16 and released a video singing Elvis’s song Suspicious Minds. The whole video is a tribute to the 68 comeback special. Black leather jumpsuit, hair like Priscilla, the red suit of the piano player is one of his backup singers outfits. This I can’t confirm but the fender guitar she plays is Elvis’s guitar from the special on loan to her. She has quite a history. I won’t go into it all. She’s all over you tube. Her family is holding back since she’s still so young. They’d like her to have as normal a childhood as possible. She is diva status I believe.

Such a beautiful song! The original was written by Gilbert Bécaud,, the original title was "Je t'apartiens". The same guy wrote and perform "Et maintenant", which was a world Wide succsess in the english version "What now my love", also performed by.. well, you all know... This footage is out of one of his early Las Vegas concerts. If you call up Elvis Presley - Love Me Tender (Live 1970) on YT you will see the complete footage with Elvis singing Love Me Tender as he begins to interact with his fans standing next to the stage, before suddenly moving down into the crowd. His bodyguards had no idea he was going to do this, so there was a mad scramble for them to catch up with him. Elvis loved to interact with his fans & this became his signature song in his Las Vegas concerts to do some interacting with his fans, so that people could make their way to the front in the hope of seeing their idol up close & personal.

The film footage is from Elvis: That’s The Way It Is! And I do not believe this is the same version as released on the Elvis On Stage album from 1970. It no doubt is from the same Vegas season and just as beautiful as the one released on the 70 album. Thank You John for this reaction. Beautifully done.
