Elvis was like a God among men, when he sang you could not just hear him but you could feel him as he touched your very soul. Elvis had it all the voice, the looks, the moves, power emotion passion and charisma like no other. Elvis could sing the phone book and make it a hit. No one else will ever even come close. I found this online. "My Way" is a song popularized in 1969 by Frank Sinatra set to the music of the French song "Comme d'habitude" composed and written by French songwriters Claude François and Jacques Revaux, performed in 1967 by Claude François. Its English lyrics were written by Paul Anka and are unrelated to the original French song.

I love Frank Sinatra. Period. But, when people diagnose his entire career from his version of "My Way" is SO sad to me because I see this and I truly do love E's version so much better than Frank's ever could be and then he just blows his pipes out the front door... I feel bad for "ol' blue eyes." You can't compete with the King.

Most songs he interpreted became in many ways autobiographical. He's the equivalent of the finest actor, bringing soul, life, and emotion to every performance. Elvis didn't need to write songs, although he could have since he wrote poetry. Most great actors don't write the scripts they perform and no one raises criticism over that. Linda Ronstadt, for one, is primarily a song interpreter, too, dnd she's praised. Elvis is put down. I don't get it al all, except that Elvis breeds jealously and envy in people. I love watching you watch and listen.

This is a beautiful song that he performed from the heart ❤ as he did with all his songs. It always makes me a little sad at the same time though, and the sweat on his face almost appears as though he was crying. I've heard Frank Sinatra s versiom, but I like Elvis" better. And yes Elvis looked so good here and his vibrato is outstanding as usual. Miss all the beautiful songs he never got to sing. And he did do it his way from the beginning when he was first heard on the radio and they didn’t know if it was a black man or white man until he mentioned what high school he went to, only because of segregation they then knew he was white. Politician's tried to ban him, churches thought he was evil, everyone that tried to stop him. He did do it his way because he didn’t think he was doing anything wrong. He is truly the GOAT and always will be. His gift was truly sent by God… no professional training.

The bass from the bassline and Elvis's own voice is the main reason that I prefer this "My way" version than the original. Plus I feel like this song summarizes Elvis's humble beginnings, to his rise to fame, and eventually to his untimely ending.
