Elvis was the best friend i ever had in my entire life. we met when i was 17 yrs old. I won a radio show contest and the prize was a day with Elvis but our friendship lasted past that one day in time. All the memories of my friend are tucked safe in my heart forever. i saw him numerous times he was amazing he was not only my friend but a big brother as well. I never will get over his death it haunts me everyday seeing him in video's dancing and singing breaks my heart because i know he is not here anymore my mind understands but my heart never will, i saw him a few weeks before he passed he said kiddo everything will be okay i said E. nothing will ever be okay again, i was crying so hard he gave me a little kiss on the cheek and said i love ya kiddo always remember that okay i said love ya too E. that was the last time i saw my friend alive again. I walk past Graceland everyday without fail. Anyway i loved your reaction i hope you will watch more of his music videos love from Memphis Tn.

Sandra : iwas fortunate to see him about 25 or more times.....first one in Vegas 1969 when Bill Miller Elvis promoter and a close famly friend got us sitting in the front booth with dom perignon.....what a show, and we met him after the show, and I was tongue tied, and looking at him in awe, when i was introduced. He was a gentleman, caring human being, no wonder he has so many loyal friends across the globe, some of whom that never saw him live. I did see him for sveral years till the laset Dec Vegas engagement in 1976, where he looked terrible and could not stay through the performance without being on a stool, at that time i knew there was a problem, the show only lasted 30 minutes......it was sad to see him go out like that.....wish he lived for many many more years and made another sper comeback......anyway we have the a lot of good years to remember him by,

When Elvis pulled the piece of paper out of his belt and read it... it had the names of the celebrities in the audience. After polk salad annie Elvis would take a break and catch a breather. correction......elvis was told before show who was in show ....source.....lamar fike , the guy who over saw shows ...in fact ....lamar tells a funny story about elvis not remembering who was who .....if he had notes he would not screw up and why would he carry notes in belt when he could drop it...when ya think about ....it does not make sense ....futhermore....as a educated well read fan on elvis for over 30 years ...NEVER heard this before ....and i know every little detail....the note i guess is from woman fan who i guess put her name and number on it and placed it in his belt when he was kissing them ....that makes more sense ....ummm ?
@jaredhowe2847
@jaredhowe2847 4 жыл бұрын
@@waynedoyle5584 my source is Jerry Schilling. I asked Jerry one night what was Elvis Reading from his belt? Jerry told me the names of celebrities in the audience. Elvis was fearful of forgetting somebody... and embarrassing them by doing so. It was his way of reminding himself. I worked for RCA and ran the soundboard for the live recordings in the Showroom. Col. Parker requested me and/or 3 another Recording Engineers at RCA come do the Recording. The Col would record many shows and have us come in on scheduled nights to do the recordings. Everything was pre- planned. We also did Tour Recordings as well. What do you think Elvis was reading off that piece of paper? Tell me please. You're not the expert you think you are. I was around Elvis from 1961 until his untimely death in 1977. I and Mike ran the soundboard for the 68 TV Special recordings, the Aloha Show in Hawaii, and his last 3 shows filming the CBS TV Special. I worked the soundboard for about 3/4's of the Movie Soundtrack Albums in the 60's... anything Elvis recorded in Hollywood, Mike Pringle, Buddy Postell, Art Smith, Johnny Otter or Myself worked the recordings along with Felton Jarvis who flew in from Nashville out of the RCA Studio there. I met Elvis and we were on a first name basis. He was always grateful to the musicians and studio engineers... and friendly with all of us. I retired from RCA in 1995. I am now 79 years old. And had lunch with Jerry Schilling and Buddy Postell about two months ago in Las Vegas. So I know for sure what was on the pieces of paper in his belt. And it was Charlie Hodge who gave the papers/celebrity list to Elvis. Lamar Fike worked the Spotlights in the Showroom for the shows.

So many elements at play here that first requires acknowledgement of his beauty. But for us, he contorts it, to surrender himself to the music. His body becomes an instrument with perfect timing. He injects oddities to remind us who is in charge…not him, not us. He takes us on a rhythmic journey that can only be described as painful when realizing that it has ended… but what a ride. The incomparable Elvis Presley.

Sandra Miller You understand Elvis so well, he was a performer, back then writers were not performers, and they would pitch their songs to Elvis, and is a cardinal rule that the did not record them! If he had they would not have made the money they did, and 'THEY" all thanked himm all the way to the bank. I am tired of explaining to people who are not looking at the big picture back then. Ignorance is not something I can tolerate, if anyone needs to study the man, go back to the day, and ask all those songwritesr how happy they were for Elvis to record their songs, and break the barrier! Enuffsaid! I hope one day I meet you Sandra! Best Always!
