Fun fact about this song - the tap dancing in the beginning was choreographed by Shelby, the voice actor for one of the characters! They had Shelby come up with the moves and referenced videos of her doing them!

This song is so mucn to unpack. I feel a lot like amethyst in this situation, and just in general. you feel like you arent yourself, Lost, but than someone who cares just give you the encouragement you need, you start to feel found and like yourself again, and it hits hard. Amethyst suffers from some kind of anxiety disorder i would assume, she feels like is never good enough. I feel that same way. Just the way this show messes with your emotions

You should definitely watch Steven Universe! One thing to keep in mind though is that the show is about how Steven grows as a person so in the beginning he is going to act very childish. Still that is justified bc he is a child! Things start to get a little more serious after about 20 episodes in and only get better from there.

I'd love you to do a single song score comparison with 3 versions of it. "Bad Apple" is a song I keep recommending, and the message is always the same but the way the music is done in each reflects different emotions that hit differently. There's a music box version (2013 version), a rock version, and an orchestra version. The music box and rock have English dubbing, but the orchestra is in Japanese. Would love to see or hear your thoughts because it's able to rival the compilation version of "Mighty U". The song is almost an anthem for those of us with social anxiety, depression, and low self confidence, expressing how we all struggle with asking for help and how we will feel after asking for it.
